Assessing the talent: He has a maximum bench press of 360 pounds. Imagine that coming around the corner when he pulls at his strong side tackle position. Academics are important, but goin to a program that can help him get to the pros is important also. He’ll be camping at Texas and Oklahoma.

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 0% It’ will most likely come down to Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Miami and Nebraska.

I honestly can believe its a 2 way battle right now. He won't be leaving the Big12 in my opinion, so if that helps narrow things down even more, then :thumbs

Can anyone confirm a Curtis Bailey visit this week for ISU?
Just confirmed it. He is coming in this weekend. Also on a side note, he said it's down Oklahoma and Nebraska as his final 2 and Notre Dame is trailing (he said they haven't recruited him as hard as the other 2 lately). He already took a visit to Oklahoma's opening game vs TCU. Like i mentioned in another thread about likely commits, Bailey could pull the trigger soon

Knock about 50 lbs off this guy, get his 40 time down an few tenths, and he could be a heck of a player :thumbs
He's not a great player now for his age?
Im not saying hes not good, just seems overweight and slow, needs to get into shape.
So we are to believe the guys who do this for a living gave him 4 stars for being overweight and slow? Get real. Obviously you haven't seen game film on him, otherwise you would know he is far from being slow. This guy to the untrained eye like yourself might seem slow and overweight, but he's far from it. He reminds of of former Chicago Bear lineman Bob "The Beast" Sapp.

A 5.2 40 is quite fast.
I remember when NU had a good offensive scheme, the OLs were about 290-310 and all ran 40's in the 5.0 range.

Compared to them 5.2 is pretty slow.

Untrained eye, like those of the supposed recruiting experts?? You know, recruiting experts who are like weathermen, as in they are constantly wrong, yet brag about the few times they are right.

There is a reason why these "experts" are not "coaches" much like yourself. :dumdum

I will argue you until the end of time that 5.2 is not slow.....I am not arguing recruiting at all, but you insist you know what you are talking about, and you don't. Actually most likely these numbers are fudged like most of the numbers on any board.

How are coaches anymore right than recruiting 'experts'? They look at the same tape, analyze the same things and develop thoughts on the certain recruit. The difference with a recruiting expert is they are not into the X's and O's of the game.

Coaches whiff just as much if not more than the recruiting experts. The recruit-niks are bound to miss in their assumptions of the tens of thousands of HS seniors and JUCO players across the whole country, don't you think?

In any case, a 5.2 forty for someone of Bailey's size and stature is EXTREMELY fast. Where you are getting most OL run 5.0 forty yard dashes I would like to know.

In any case, this is a new day and age in Husker football, so we are not recuriting the same type of players. So your point about past players is moot at best. But if you want to discount a highly touted lineman because of a 40 time, be my guest. But how many times do you see a lineman running 40 yards? Show me their 10 yard dash, shuttle time and quickness in the feet. That is where a lineman is made, not in a 40 time or any amount of weight.
