Should Vick get to play in the NFL?

Since his house arrest is over with, what do you think the chances are that he plays again in the NFL? IMO i think he will play again, at least sign with a team this year, YES what he did was a terrible, horrible thing, but there have been guys that play again after killing someone in a DUI! Either the NFL needs to have a zero tolerance or get rid of the fine line they have riding on for their players and their off the field tragedies.

I agree he will play again. Still kind of young so I think he will get a shot. Still don't like him though.

I'm 100% sure Vick will play again. Someone is going to sign him, the question is will he have a major impact on a team again? I personally don't believe he will, and especially not at QB. When he was playing he was middle of the pack QB with outstanding athleticism, and a horribly inconsistent arm. I've heard talking heads say he may not play QB, the problem is, Vick is too soft to play any other position full time. So what's his value really going to be?

All that still won't stop some team (probably my Raiders  ) from droping a couple million to find out that he's just as average of a player as he's always been in the NFL. Only now he'll be nearly 30.

Should he and will he are two different things.

I've seen a lot of opinions (not just on the Board) that bemoan what is viewed as a different standard for Vick as opposed to others. I'm not sure I agree, for a number of reasons. First, what Vick engaged in was an on-going criminal act that spanned years; it was not a single, moment in time, event. Second, comparisons with other players is valid only when those players are ones that violated standards since the new standards under Goodell came into effect. When you look at guys like Pacman and Tank Johnson, I don't think there is some kind of different standard. Third, the entire purpose of the new standards is to clean up the image of the NFL; a permanent ban on Vick goes toward that, especially if the announced reason is that he engaged in a conspiracy that spanned years, invloved multiple instances of lying to authorities, etc.

Will he play (assuming he's cleared by Goodell)? I have some doubts. Not that he isn't talented enough, but I have to wonder whether any team is willing to take on the public relations nightmare. Picketing outside the stadium, the possible loss of season ticket holder, loss of merchandising - it's all a real possibility, and could easily offset any possible on-field gain.

Won't be surprised if a team signs him - but I won't be surprised if none does, also.

He should be able to. He's done his time, paying off the debts, and deserves a second chance. Will a team pick him up? No. At least not this year.

After reading the report in its entirety I say he shouldn't be allowed to play again. I'm curious as to whether or not he'll be reinstated. If so, it will send a message that the NFL will take anybody without regard to their character.

He will be a Raider by week 7. He will also be horrible. Raider fan torture continues to the delight of niner fans like myself.

I don't think he should get the chance to play again, nor do I think anyone who took the life of another human being by being intoxicated while driving should get a chance either. These guys are supposed to be so called "role models" and need to act accordingly.

I concur with my Raider lovin' brethren.

They'll have him signed half way through camp, immediately causing a mini QB controversy and we'll go 2-14

didn't the guy who just ran over someone get a lighter sentence than Vick earlier this year? The more i think about it, I think he should be banned, ban all of them that is convicted of a felony, it gets tougher for us to get a job if there is a conviction on our records (i think) so why should these ding-dongs get the chance to make millions again, the more i think about this the more it just pisses me off :boxosoap

I'm not condoning what Donte Stallworth did, or am I coming to his defense, but, he's done something not one other NFL'er can say when they've done something wrong.

He fessed up to it. He called the cops, turned himself in. Granted he was driving under the influence, but at least he man'd up to it. Not like Vick, etc.

Vick got thrown to the dogs.

Okay, maybe a poor choice of words, but it's true. We have someone that KILLED ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, but got a LIGHTER sentence than Vick. Yeah, what Vick was doing over an extended period of time and it was horrible, but I think getting behind the wheel and killing a human being is worse.

Sorry, but human beings > animals.

Will Vick play again? Yes, I'm sure he will.
