**Official Ohio State game discussion thread**

Kind of like how we fired a nine-win coach and no big name wanted to come to here to coach as a result?
That is because Frank left this team devoid of any talent. With the expectations we have here, there is no way anyone could win with the "talent" that he recruited. It was going to be a 5-6 year rebuilding project that the fan base didn't have the patience for....then we go and hire another inexperienced coach who doesn't know how to recruit....so a decade later, we are still in the same place we were back then. Getting hammered by every team with a heartbeat and feasting on crappy teams to a supposed magical "9" win standard.
Frank had more talent on D leftover for Cally than we have now, by FAR.
The 2003 defense was a testament to this fact...
And the defensive coordinator wasn't too shabby, either.
Are you really expecting a fluke season (49 turnovers that made up for a pathetic offense) will be the norm? Not to mention that was a really easy schedule as we only played 2 ranked teams all year. Both of which kicked our a$$.

How was Alabama able to hire Nick Saban and he is able to get top-tier recruits in Tuscaloosa, a craphole in the middle of Alabama?
Is that a serious question? That "craphole", and surrounding areas, is where all of the athletes in this country live.... Are you as stupid as the guy in NebraskaHarry's avatar looks?

Florida and Louisiana are loaded w/ talent. Then again, so are Texas and Cali. That's just another excuse. Get a top-notch recruiter, and a top-notch coach, who players actually WANT to play for, and top players will come here.
I lived in Louisiana for over 20 years when ChaRLIE mACcLENDON WAS lsu'S HEAD COACH, AND THEY WERE RARELY IN THE TOP 20. Why does Mississippi always suck if there is so much talent there?
God I love that movie!

I'm sorry, I like Bo Pelini and the culture which he has tried to instill in this program, but this type of effort MUST come to an end.

WE ARE NEBRASKA!!! And Nebraska does have standards.

  • We believe in running the football and stopping the run on defense.
  • We believe in physically dominating the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
  • We believe in option football. We believe in power football.
  • We believe in a play-action passing game.
  • These spread offenses may work for other teams, but we had an identity that worked for over 50 years, and it wasn't the spread.
  • We understand that penalties are part of the game, but many of these stupidly repeated penalties lately have to stop. It's not just a coincidence anymore, the frequency of the same penalties have become a habit, and they are costing us games.
  • We believe in winning at least 9 games a year, at least competing for a conference champion ship every year, playing in a bowl game, and being consistently in the Top 25.
  • We believe in playing for a National Championship before we ever think about roses.

So a message to you Coach Pelini, your efforts the last 5 years have been respectable, but these last two years your teams are starting to slip below our standards for our Nebraska Cornhuskers. Defensive performances such as UCLA this year, and Ohio State are examples of the Nebraska brand being embarrassed on national tv. It may surprise you but we can tolerate a loss in Nebraska. However these kind of performances at UCLA and Ohio State are un-exceptable. A change in defensive and offensive schemes are no longer just a suggestion, they are now a requested demand.

P.S.

Your new Athletic Director arrives on Tuesday.

That is exactly my point. Just another excuse that Nebraska fans use to explain why we can't win.
So there isn't talent in the South? You're a moron....
