Coaches on twitter

Good thing or bad thing?

Helpful in recruiting?

I ask because rich fisher seemed pretty pissed that he had to answer questions from recruits about things that his followers posted.

@rfisher88: Wow! Thought communicating via twitter would help in recruiting. Glad I got to answer questions posted by my followers to recruits today!!

@rfisher88: Appreciate the TRUE Husker fan. You guys rock. Best fans in college football.

It is a good thing but put yourself in the same position. Heck, I can think of just the emails I get from people at school with things people want me to answer, it gets old. I can't even imagine how annoying it is for these guys with a fan base like the Huskers.

IMO tweeting a recruit is just plain weird. Even if you are trying to help and say good things these kids don't know you and if I was in their shoes I would think it was weird as in stalkish kind of weird. Let the coaches do their jobs for Christ sakes. It is a waste of their very valueable time protecting themselves by answering questions posted by dumbass fans that think they know something.

People with twitter should troll the sh#t outta those idiots Jared in the O and TJ that tweet something negative to Coach Fisher everytime they get a chance.

I think the NCAA has made a huge mistake in removing the social media limits in recruiting. Huge. Personally, I think more and more limits should be put on recruiting. We're starting to but junior high kids for christ's sake. I just think it was a giant cop out by the NCAA because it was getting to difficult and widespread to restrict and enforce.

I think these Coaches doing this on Twitter is great for the program. Last week was a tough week for recruiting. I think having Coach TJ, Fisher, and Papuchis on Twitter really brings a good energy and vibe to the recruiting front. Momentum.

I agree, and coaches will need to push the limits. If I were I kid I would toss it all in the trash so my phone would not work, (than I would lose a star on some website). I have know idea how teams will deal with this. Bottom line is that teams need all of the contact they can get so they will need to deal with this. If a kid can't have an agent to protect 'em, the NCAA needs to deal with this. Or else families will need to keep having some unpaid Uncle Vinny run the show as a buffer for the 16 yr old. Course Vinny may get a few bucks and no one will Know.
