Team HuskerBoard
We've had a request in Board feedback to make the Daily Skin a password forum In a way I can see his/her :) point especially if little kids sign in on their parents computer. The lustful part is their conscious decision to either do it or don't.

I can see the point, also. Seems like a good idea to me.

EDIT: After reading the post, I may have changed my position slightly. If you haven't seen the post, it is HERE. The reason he gives is specious, to say the least. Too much temptation? What's to stop him from asking for the password in a moment of weakness?

I do think that the password may be a good idea for those whose kids cruise the board, but honestly, that's the first complaint we've received in all the time it's been up that I recall - and the level of "naughty" is pretty low. Hell, you see far worse on TV...

I think thee was a post awhile back that stated something similar but was just a random post not a new topic subject. Part of me says if you don't like it don't look. This person must never have been to a beach out here. :) Some of the suits here have less fabric than a coffee cup doily. :hellloooo Basically, it's whatever the majority feel is justified. Like one post this week about if you google huskerboard the daily skin comes up. Might send the wrong message with lots of people just peeking in on that? Don't know.

I also PM'd him to let him know I was notifying the admin and other mods about the request.

Thanks Raw. I could be alright with requiring a pw for viewing it, and kinda see their point. hell it will probably increase registrations if nothing else.

That's total BS, I say NO password, absolutely not.

Just reading that guys post pisses me off, don't push your s.h.i.t off on others. There is a warning, if you don't want to see it don't look.... There's nothing in that forum that you can't see on TV or in a major magazine, or on billboards for christ sake..

There's a reason we have a password on the woodshed, because pretty much anything goes. That's not the case in the skin forum, it's kept tasteful.

I have strong feelings about this topic, absolutely not. I get really pissed when people like that start trying to push their values off on others.

This reminds me of a story I read on Boing Boing, had to go look it up, article -> here.

Those that don’t know, Boing Boing is a major web publication focusing on the arts and pop culture type stuff. In a nutshell, they were put on one of those Net Censor sites because they had nudity on their site. The nudity in question was a picture of Michaelangelo's David. In effect of being put on this censors banned site list, access to their site was blocked to the entire country of Qutar as well as United Arab Emirates, and by many library systems, schools, US government and military sites, and corporations…..

I see your side also Slack. I hate rules and regs just for the sake. And if this person feels that way then see ya don't let the door hit ya. But then there is the flip side about who is seeing it. Granted the ladies aren't Michaelangelo or Da Vinci works but they are works of art. I'm in a quandry at the moment. Gonna sleep on it. Vote tomorrow.

I agree 100%. If you dont have enough self control to not open a forum with a SPECIFIC disclaimer than that is just plain stupid.

I put a yes vote in just for people that may not understand the concept of self control. Like myself. :)

EDIT: I really don't have a problem with not using a pw. Being a Christian and all I realize my faults too. I make the decisions and face the consequences. Nobody else needs to shoulder the blame.

I don't have a problem one way or the other. I see his point though but like has been said earlier there is a disclaimer before you enter. I may be wrong but I don't think there has ever been any nudity on there so isn't it mostly girls in swimming suits? (I've never looked at that forum)

At first I could see his point - but then I read his actual post (see my post near the top for the link), and that had me reconsidering. The more I think about it, the more I'm with Joe on this one.

Ok, I admit I initially bit on the general concept of having a pw, b/c could see if ppl were concerned their kids might wander across it - but like the others didnt read his post until now. and wow. I am now leaning the other direction as well. Just a str8 dumb comment, and yes very annoying. for someone even to post something like that - to give us an "ultimatum", is enuf to overcomp in the other dirction just for principal.

I say lets leave the topic "open for disc" in the feedback forum for a week or so, and if others start to voice their prefrence for having a pw, with some "legit" reasons, then we will consider it. but like someone else sed, we have heard NOTHING else about it up to this point.

I put a post in the board forum after his post and stated we were discussing this. Do you want to start a new thread and get peoples' input? With a 4-3 vote against between us I think that says it all. Let the majority rule. I have no problem with that. If a new discussion topic is started will that divide the board? I'd rather lose one member than cause a rift in the board that disrupts all the good things the board does for Husker Nation.
