#4 tOSU

#11 Michigan

#17 Northwestern

#20 Wisconsin

#23 Nebraska

Pretty much what I expected. We haven't done anything relevant to climb, or keep our spot, while everyone above us has lost to a top 25 team, or has pretty much dominated their competition. 600 yards allowed week 1 and defeating a Southern Miss team who hasn't won in over two seasons doesn't say a lot, except we haven't proved anything. Next week, hopefully we can dominate, do what we are suppose to do, control the game all 4 quarters and give ourselves some recognition.

But 15th in the coaches poll. Don't think I've ever seen an 8 spot discrepancy between the polls.

#23 in AP and #15 in USA Today

Just for clarification, it's not that Southern Miss hasn't won a game in over two years. Two seasons ago they won 12 games, last season they won none, and so far this season they have won none. So that's barely over one season.

The AP generally overreacts to stuff. Whereas the coaches do not.
And the coaches have historically given the Huskers a better shake.........
Also true, but I think the discrepancy is due more to the AP overreacting than the Coaches giving us a better shake.
I do agree with you on this. But, personally, I have always thought the a.p. is too heavily weighted with lightweights casting ballots along regional lines. Although, in truth, coaches are known to gerrymander votes for personal advantage, I just don't think they do that too often this early in the season. That seems to occur late in the season when jockeying for bowl slots, etc. come into play. jmho.

Yeah but coaches also use their votes to help them out on their next game, or future games, whereas the AP does not.

I am just saying, I think we are where we should be, according to AP. Coaches Poll, we are ranked higher than we should be. What have we shown to be a top 25 team? Honestly? Beating the crap out of Southern Miss, who has now lost 14 straight games? Almost getting beat by WYO? Allowing almost 2100 yards in the last 4 games (including S. Miss). When Northwestern has more of a national coverage than we do, I think that is a sign. This University needs to put itself back on the map and prove to be a legitimate threat.
