The Village of the "Banned"

So what is the magic number of people not liking a poster and complaining about them to Mods/Admins before they are banned?
You honestly believe it was because of "people not liking a poster," and not rule-breaking?
Based on this exchange between Knapplc and I earlier today, I have no other reason to believe otherwise, I guess.

Maybe I missed a lot of what he said that was so offensive and unforgiveable but I think people need to have thicker skin.
If one person has a problem with you, the problem is between you and that person. If a few people have a problem with you, it's possible the problem is you.

When a large number of people have a problem with you, the problem is almost certainly you.

I've said that time and again to people. I've done my best to reason with a lot of people who are no longer on this board. For some reason, that concept just doesn't sink in.

If anyone has thick skin, it's the person that everyone has a problem with. Such thick skin that it cannot sink in that they are part of the problem - it won't penetrate their thick hide. That's not on the rest of the board, that's on them.

I hope not because I'm losing all my public favor so I might be next :'(

might have to kill someone to regain my street cred

never really liked that "problem with you" standard or mindset or whatever you want to call it. seems arbitrary and capricious. especially in a forum for discussion where people will have minority opinions and the majority can just form a mob and create a boogeyman. and a board where personal attacks seem to only matter in certain occasions.

however, perhaps it would be productive if the board members could be notified when people were banned and for what purpose in an effort to avoid future occurrences.

Bleak outlooks isn't something I've been accused of very much here. Actually this might be the first time.

I don't even know what a self-fulfilling video is but people generally seem to enjoy them. Everyone has their part to play I guess

i am going to be told that members only have problems with members who break the rules. and that "problem with you" is only something to be mindful of, but it is always all and only about the rules. and so one and so forth.

but i have witnessed rules violations from posters just go by the wayside. it only seems like rules violations become a real issue when a poster is disliked. then the rules are bent in such a way to make sure a violation is created. (i mean, just about any dissenting opinion is trolling).

i just wish we were given specifics on the departures to avoid repeating such behavior. i thought knapp did not know because it was an admin. decision. but yet, he knows it was about the rules. so i wonder which rules and how?
