Yeah I don't get that. Heard they started practice off with special teams though.

I don't know What he expect the spring 3rd string kicker to do who will soon be the 4th string kicker once the JUCO kid arrives
Actually that looks like all of the place kickers currently on campus. Drew Brown is there on the ground on the left. There are 2 walk on kickers (Schumaker and Lindsay) and Faulkenberry in that pic as well. The walk on JUCO K isn't on campus yet I don't believe and neither is Ober, the new LS. Looking at that pic in that context makes me wonder exactly what the kicking unit does do in practice and why is Riley paying a ST Coach over $500K to not coach STs? I don't see the punters, but still.......

It seems to me that 3 kickers could work simultaneously. One on each hash and one in the center. Sort of like basketball players warming up with several shots taken at once. This practice seems like a huge waste of time.

Special teams practice is a huge waste of time...kickers can only kick so many FG's in practice...They only do Kickoffs so many times...I have a buddy that punted D1...they come out...warm up...punt a few times...go back in and workout and watch TV and then they come back out at the end of practice for either a few more punts that are live...or just to break down and leave.

This is kind of what I was thinking. It's not realistic to expect them to kick the full duration of every practice.
I was under the impression Bondi was settled in as a kickoff specialist, but I understand if he's upset about it.

Shane Lechler (Former AM punter) was a QB in high school...AM had a bunch of of QBs dinged up so the coaches told Shane he was going to be the backup for 3rd string QB for that week. One reporter asked him "How are things different for you this week since you are the backup QB" and he replied something like..."Well, now I have to practice"

Of course it was tongue and cheek but I think you get the point.
