This sh#t always cracks me up. I'll probably get sh#t on since I'm a city slicker, but Class A is where it's at. Yes you sometimes have better rivalries in B, C, and D. Yes, 8 man and lower is a whole different game and creates a different kind of athlete. But the sheer numbers dictate that Class A teams are going to be better. You just have more bodies and more opportunities for better athletes, and thus more complete teams. There will always be a few great athletes from the smaller classes every year, but that's all it's going to be.

I'm really disappointed in you if you took our post seriously. Class A will always be considered top because it is the biggest classification. Every once in awhile, I think a class B school could give an A school a run for it's money on tops in state.

No, I know your were joking but there are people who are serious about it. I usually just keep my mouth shut and go along with it when they go off on it, because I won't convince them.

I honestly believe that there were some Class C1 teams that would have competed really well in Class B and A. Norfolk Catholic and Boone Central come to mind in certain years.

I think Adams Central and Elkhorn (Before Elk South) have both proved over the last 6 years or so that the Top end of C isn't very far off from the Top end of B...and the Top end of B isn't all that far from the Top of A. Because both, when they moved up a class, end up being in the semifinals in the playoffs.

Of course Class A will be better than 8-man. They have 3 more players on the field.

You get a lot better coverage with those extra three guys. Of course, it's not this much coverage: LINK
