Am I reading this right?

6 teams still eligible for 5 spots? So we need 2 of these teams to lose either today or next week in order to get a spot?

 
There are 5 bowl spots remaining and 6 teams left that can still get up to six wins. These are the six teams:

Louisiana-Lafayette - Currently 4-6 and losing 21-0 in the 3rd to Appalachian State

Minnesota - Currently 5-6 and tied 7-7 with Wisconsin in the 1st

Illinois - Currently 5-6 and losing to Northwestern 14-7 in the 1st

Kansas State - Currently 4-6 and leading Kansas 7-0 in the first, plays West Virginia next week

Georgia State - Currently 5-6 and plays Georgia Southern next week

South Alabama - Currently 5-5 and losing 35-17 to Georgia Southern in the 3rd

If any of these two teams reach six losses then there will be a 5-7 bowl team. It almost seems likely that five or six of them lose. There will almost certainly be 5-7 bowl teams this year.

I guess I didn't realize that Kansas State is as bad as us. Maybe we could play them in the Smurf Bowl.
