The Next Husker Controversy

Today i found out anybody that trained in the weight room in the past 10 years has been removed from the walls. @Huskers no love for alum???

That hurts. Was told that because "we didnt train right" our records in the weight room at our Alma Mater are removed? Ouch.

Forgettin the old regime I understand, let's move forward. But guys that gave 5 years to the program? @Ameerguapo deserves to b in that room

I am not complaining, and i am not angry. I am genuinely saddened. I love that program and the guys that are apart of it. Disappointed.

This has NOTHING to do with the football staff. That kind of decision comes from the 3rd floor, the Administration level.

Not interested in arguing and name calling guys. I wanted to let ppl know wat was going on & respectfully voice my opinion on it, thats all.

Appreciate the clarity Mr. Epley, just wanted an explanation.

Respect and appreciate the conversation today's ladies & gentlemen. We don't have to agree, but we can be civil in expressing Opinions ✊

I wouldn't call any of that throwing shade.

Kenny's earned some of the approbation he receives on twitter, but this probably wasn't worth bringing out the pitchforks over. If literally ANY other player tweets that out, there's no backlash.

Bingo. If it was Burkhead, people are marching on the stadium.

Kenny Bell wanting attention and causing drama? That's so unlike him.
He'll fight at the gates of hell to make sure his record for calf raises stands.
And that is one thing that turns off many Husker fans and make them dislike Bell
That's okay.
There's nothing that says Kenny Bell has to be liked by everyone.

I mean, Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes that everyone liked, they left that to the Bee Gees.

Eh?

He suggested that the NU Athletic Dept. no longer had love for the alums, and that in an attempt to forget Bo's era they decided the players who have their all in those years didn't train right. And he appeared to decide this needed a public spotlight -- whether or not he meant to.

I mean, it seem like former Husker players (including Ameer) are quick to suspect that the AD doesn't appreciate them any more. I don't find that surprising, but a little

We have a context here where we care about how alums are treated and how they feel about NU, and vice versa. SP was not long ago, and alienated a lot of former players. I'm sure KB didn't exactly mean to, but he fanned the flames that all of that was starting to go down all over again ... and maybe that's something to keep in mind the next time he chooses to go Twitter "Ouch. Disappointed" over a private "Hey Coach Williams, what's up with these records not being on the TV displays". Shrug.

My favorite part...people telling Bell how HE should feel about something that is directly related to him.

So if you think about it...we have posters that are mad at Bell for being mad and using twitter..while the mad poster started posting stuff about about how mad they are at Bell for being mad and using twitter while they were using a post board and probably twitter at the same time to let Bell know that he is a baby and needs to settle down while they are worked up and posting and tweeting about how mad they are because he is mad and that he needs to not be mad because it is not a big deal but that they can be mad with him for being mad because him being mad is a big deal to them.

I think I covered it all

This is such an important point and one that's lost on so many in different parts of society.

We are losing our ability to empathize.
Many times my decisions are crappy when I go by how I feel. But when I take a moment to use my intellect and think things through, I tend to make better decisions.

Some posters are just responding on how KB handled a situation by the point I just made about my own self. I agree with those that think he overreacted through a social media outlet, and could have been more patient & mature about it. In this case, his feelings took over and the rest is history.

Just to make it clear, I'm not suggesting we get the pitchforks out over on KB. And it's great that he & Epley got to sort this out in a productive way, and everyone should be happy with the outcome there.

But his tweets did touch off a bit of a firestorm and it did lead folks to jump aboard the "look at this unbelievable thing the NU AD is doing" train, and that merits a bit of head-shaking, I think.

I wish people would get over that sign/phrase.

"Greatest" does not exclusively imply "niceist/sweetist/politeist/smartest"

I always took it as the stadium/program is saying, "you fans have shown a lot of passion/dedication over the years. You guys have been great. Thank you fans"

Oh I agree. I don't think it was malicious, I just think it wan't fully thought out. People jumping on the AD or KB in this are taking it too far.
