Spring Position Battles - Quarterback

I think a lot of people think that POB is a better passer than Tommy but unfortunately it's not true. As much as you want it at this moment Tommy is a much better not just runner but passer of the the ball than POB. Granted POB may and hopefully will be better than Tommy in the future years.

I thought he looked ten fold better this Spring compared to last. Hope he surprises me moving forward, I've never expected him to contend for starting time.

they should put together a wildcat package for AJ this year
Considering our starting QB runs at least as well, I'm not sure that's needed.
Both these comments could be correct:

Mav for 2016

OHIL for a year later
It could be a good look in 2017. I think most opponents would scout us and know Bush is a backup quarterback, so the element of surprise from a passing standpoint isn't really there. However, Florida utilized Tebow in a Wildcat-type package with success, so there are some options available.

Bush has all the tools to be a starter for us in 2017 if he can put it all together. He has great vision when running, lateral juking ability to make guys miss, awesome arm strength, the height to see the field and the big body to take a pounding, and he seems to be learning a lot about pro offense. I really think he is developing nicely and with another year could be right in the thick of things for the battle. I'm pumped for 2017 because we will have Lee, Bush, O'Brien, and Gebbia all battling it out to start. Can you imagine next year's spring game where we get to see Lee, O'Brien, and Gebbia all really for the first time. (Most of us didn't see Patrick's limited play in the spring game and it was so limited with 3rd string I don't count it). That is a heck of a competition because all 4 could start somewhere. Lee already started 2 years at Tulane. Bush has been growing quickly and I've seen dramatic improvement in a short amount of time, and the young guys were top 10 pro style QB recruits!

I don't think Bush will ever play a meaningful snap barring a rash of injuries. He has a long, slow delivery and it's particularly accurate.
