The General Election

LOL. So do these worthless candidates now make W not look so bad to some of you? I mean really, throw W up against these 2 and he wins by a landslide, doesn't he? I'd give my left one to have him as an option this year. But I never thought he was that bad either.

I thought Bush was stupid but his heart was in the right place. (The latter doesn't mean I don't think he was a disaster in many ways).

I thought Cheney was smart and evil.

Trump is stupid and evil and would make Bush's disasters look like annoyances.
I agree with the above, but I also think Bush was dangerously incoherent in policy compared to the man who won the popular vote that year. And it facilitated the result where he was surrounded by and yielded to people who pushed the country in dangerous directions.

It could be nothing, since it's just an allegation. I'm inclined to just wait and see. But given the context of everything else going on today, it just makes this entire thing feel incredibly gross.

It's definitely not 'nothing', because an element of the story is Trump being good friends with a convicted pedophile predator, and defending him as being a great guy.
Well then, it sounds like he's got his health and human services director all set to go.
Roger Ailes?

Oh, wait, that was the other guy Trump defended as a great guy after he was ousted as Fox News chief over a torrent of sexual harassment allegations, and has since been part of Trump's campaign operation.

Future chief of Trump's post-election media company.
Steve Bannon, campaign manager: Alleged domestic abuser

Rudy Giuliani: Cheated on multiple wives, left one via news conference

Newt Gingrich: Led moral crusade against Bill Clinton while having an affair himself, left wife while she was terminally ill

Everyone that surrounds this guy is scummy. It's not hard to see how we wound up here.

So after yesterday's tape reveal Paul Ryan "uninvited" Trump to WI for a rally today. Pence was to go in his place. Pence just made the decision to not attend.

Several additional R's withdrew their support in the last few hours, including Kelly Ayotte, and Mike Crapo (these in addition to the UT guys that disassociated themselves publicly last night)

I think we're going to see something the US has never seen before .. wondering the RNC will step up to make a change or if Pence decides to walk away to save himself? Indeed I sense that the bomb is ticking.

Could Trump govern effectively at this point? He's lost so much goodwill from Republicans, he's burned every bridge he can with Democrats... who's going to work with him if he makes it to the White House? This is clearly an untenable position.

So let's say he gets elected and then tries to surround himself with experts and experience (which honestly I don't think he's aware enough to realize that it would be what's needed) ... who would take those jobs? Has he now made it such that folks will recognize that a drowning man takes down everyone that tries to save him?

These guys have no integrity whatsoever.

Why mention any qualification about an "11 year old" tape in an apology?

Does he actually think Trump doesn't say these things weekly? The man is a pig.

As far as replacing him, they're pretty well hosed. People have already cast ballots in the states that have started early voting. Their party rules pretty much have no recourse if they did not act by September. It's too late for that. The only possible fix is if he himself stands down. Given his combative nature, it'll never happen. Especially after he wailed all primary long about how the system was stacked against him and essentially lashed out at the party he was trying to represent.

We're watching a guy self-immolate, and it's only going to get worse from here as more dissent pours in. This is truly incredible. No doubt any of us have never seen anything like it.

At least now he has a built-in excuse for when he loses in a month. It wasn't his fault, the party turned on him because they're crooked.
