You should probably wait to see what the offense is like without Armstrong before asking for change. Sorry, but Armstrong was an athlete playing quarterback.... And not a very smart one at that.... It will be nice having someone that can actually step into his throws and make good decisions.

You can still have a run-centric and powerful offense out of different formations (like shotgun vs I). Auburn is a good example of that.

Bottom line, Nebraska should not have the 90th ranked offense no matter who is at QB.
Really??? Because if I'm a defense and I know the QB I'm playing against doesn't make good decisions and isn't a strong passer, I might favor the run heavily... Bottom line, Tommy could not throw like a QB should be able to, teams knew this and keyed their defensive schemes around it. And shouldn't have an offense ranked 90th no matter who we have at QB is the most idiotic thing I've read on these forums (congratulations on that). Could have put Drew Brown at QB and had a better offense than we had last year by your logic.

I was gonna nominate Takoda but obviously he lacks the mental wherewithal to manage a program.

I nominate I AM GLORIOUS
WTF does that mean? You would be surprised what I manage!
You picking on me? BAN!!!

On second thought, rather than laughing off the superiority complex that LLOMS has shown today within the HB voting threads, let me take this time to address his comments as they should be addressed.

LLOMS;

Stick it up your a$$!

You're self perceived added value to this board is so overblown it is laughable. You are one part of the problem of why a large majority of good posters have, are, will leave/left or prefer to be banned rather than joining you and your groupie circle jerks.

LLOMS, I hope you are nominated for all the positions, win them all and carry on with the huge successes you are reaping here at HB.

Let me be the first to give you your duly deserved participation trophy!

no noseguard, tiny linebackers that cant tackle.

Wisconsin is going to score 70 again.
What is this? Wisconsin needed overtime to crack 20 points.
Don't think our linebackers are tiny either..
umm, you looked at the roster lately? Typical 3-4 linebackers need to be able to repeatedly handle linemen coming to the second level. Theres barely a LB cracking 230, and theyve been proving to not even handle fullbacks or tight ends, let alone a nasty big ten guard
Good thing we have a sh#t load of depth then, Mr. Troll. Can we ban this retread now!

LOL. The last two posts creamedcornstar put up here he contradicted himself in. I say the DUIs are a different animal, he disagrees. Xmas says the legal issues are troubling but should be separate from his coaching, he agrees.

I say he is uninformed about our WR play, he disagrees. Xmas says it is impossible to judge them with the QB they had, he agrees.

Wow...
Maybe you should actually attempt to understand what was posted. I'm not sure you understand your own post.

Just because something isn't white, it doesn't mean that it is black.

Can you please change your name to this: "creamedcornstar" for just a week or two and see if it sticks...

Steve Pederson has been gone for nearly 10 years. He has nothing to do with this team's "grasping at straws".

I also believe firing the two most maligned coaches, who happen to be long-time friends, is not grasping at straws. It's doing what it takes to field a championship caliber team. Time will tell if it works.
I think the questions most people are asking is:

Why did he hire those people in the first place if they weren't championship caliber coaches ?

Did we throw the last 2 years away because he hired his friends ?
I suspect that he thought Mark Banker deserved a chance with better resources, better players, etc. because Mike knows that Mark is a good coach. It is possible that Mike Riley realized that Nebraska needs a great coach or simply a change to the 3-4 because we aren't recruiting DL that seem to be everywhere in the SEC. While watching those DL during the National Championship game I thought to myself that we don't have guys anywhere near the athletic ability and talent of those DL. I also thought how the hell can we get those guys. I think the answer is that you don't bank on getting those guys and move to a defense like the 3-4 and give your players every chance to be successful due to the uncertainty that it creates in the offensive blocking schemes and the QB. I suspect that Wisconsin runs the 3-4 for that exact reason. Not a lot of Simeon Rice like DE running around in WI and none in NE either. I'm sure that Mark Banker's defense would have been amazing with the Grant W., Adam C., Suh, etc. Was there any DC available in 15 that could have been hired to run the 3-4. I don't know but I trust that Mike Riley will get the job done here in Nebraska. GBR
FLHuskerGBR posting style reminds me of 84HuskerLaw's
Same person...multiple screen names... multiple IP addresses...

There are one or two paid (money) commenters here who it appears have hundreds of screen names here.

The worst part about these people is that they are the ultimate betrayers of the Nebraska Football Program. Their loyalty is NOT to the Nebraska Football Program, their loyalty is to the bank accounts of the people who hire them to come here for sole purpose of protecting their money. These paid commenters would gladly destroy the football program... if in meant saving the million dollar paychecks of their bosses.
Holy batsh#t crazy

Sorry, but I view this guy as a disapppointment. Creating dissent last year by not "buying in" and not going to class this year and letting his team down.
I think the whole "buying in" thing was overblown in 2015, but that's just me.
Gerry's INT's against Wisconsin enabled NU to take that game to OT, and he played well the rest of the season. Yes, him not going to class all season is very dumb, but he's only one player on a team of over 100 players.
All it takes is one bad apple to spoil the entire barrel.
Is that saying actually true? Like, if you have one spoiled apple are the other ones now bad too?
The saying is true. One bad apple can and will spoil all the rest if left in the barrel.
*Edit* You can save the barrel, or most of it, by removing the bad one(s) in time. However, left alone, that one bad apple WILL spoil all the rest.
Learned something new today. Apples are a$$hole$.
Anyone else see the irony in Teach not knowing about apples?

Because he's an a$$hole sometimes?

There was enough talent on the OL last year to be decent to above average. Technique was sh#t and never got better. Alot of that is on the coach. Dont give me excuses, many of these guys are on scholly whether recruited by this staff or not. If you cant teach and coach and develop players to make them better(which i havent seen for 2 years) Olineman then wtf are you doing? Dont give me the bullsh#t excuses about talent. You dont need to be overly talented to be a good Olineman.
You dont need to be talented to be a good offensive lineman? I completely disagree with that, may possibly be one of the most inaccurate posts this century.
Try reading before you post stupid sh#t. It clearly states 'overly talented' which is true. Ask anyone where they put Dlinemen who aren't athletic enough. They go to the Oline. Ask most Olinemen. They will agree they tend to not be the most athletically talented people on the field. If you feel any other way you are not right. Why do you think when a uberly athletically talented Olineman comes along they are so coveted. They're the unicorns of football.
