You don't wanna get the reputation of recruiting topnotch QB's and then not giving them a fair shake to win the job. Also need to know strengths and weakness's of both guys. Very seldom doesn't the backup play. Usually at critical times!

Riley would be stupid to name a starter now, or even at the beginning of fall camp. If he said Lee was the clear cut #1 guy, POB would be on the first plane out of Nebraska and be getting his transfer paperwork ready.

Same. I think we end up with Lee for 2 seasons, then in 2019, you have RsJr POB vs RsSo Gebbia battle for starter.

Riley also said that he probably handled the 2013 QB race wrong. Normally, I like BC, but these tweets are misleading to what Riley's mindset might be going into this situation. Sure he is not going to name a starter tomorrow, but he will also likely not wait until the week before the first game. My guess would be that if a leader declares himself during the spring practice, he may announce around the spring game. If not, we will not hear anything until fall camp.
