Keyshawn Johnson Jr. Taking Leave of Absence from Huskers

This probably would have been a good move for me when I was 18. I went without being ready and failed miserably. Took me years to overcome that failure. Every guy isn't ready for college at 18. Take some time, get ready, and hit the ground running when you're right in the head.

Good luck KJJ.

Somewhat of a similar story. I can only imagine how much more ill-equipped I'd been if I'd grown up with the kind of wealth, attention, and shadow that he has. Not throwing a pity party for the kid but I can see how he might just not be there yet.

Misfired on another high end recruit. Normal around here. Don't get your hopes up for a return. A hiccup like this is indicative of many more issues/baggage. We want the guys who show up to play. Sounds to me like the kid has some growing up to do.

Is it because we do not run the ball enough?

Sometimes in life there are not second chances and for KJJ the opportunity for him to grow up and mature is there for the taking. He either does it and is allowed back, or takes the easy way out and is not allowed back. My guess is that Senior gets some conditioning coach to get him ready for college football in 2018. And Senior pushes Keyshawn to work hard because you don't slack off just because you are his son.

Good to hear that Keyshawn Sr ain't just letting this sh#t slide. What I'd really like to know is whether any players have been getting on their teammates' asses about getting their sh#t together.

Any juco WRs available this close to the season?

KJJ wasn't going to play. *shrug*

Hopefully he makes it back to Nebraska but usually it doesn't work out that way. This situation makes me think of Chris Carter's son Duron. At least Nebraska got the recruiting ball rolling in Cali with Keyshawn's help.

High profile recruits often come with their share of baggage and drama, so this isn't phasing me a great deal. It's better to sit back and see how it all plays out. Don't forget, one of his best friends is on the team and they both played an integral role in the Calibraska movement.

Keyshawn Jr. has already contributed more to the program than a lot of 4 year players. He got the ball rolling with all this recruiting hype. I hope he gets everything straightened out so he can be part of the results.
