The Environment

How the Trump WH operates:

I am not an accountant — but you don’t have to be one to see that the administration’s excuse for a reassignment such as mine doesn’t add up. A few days after my reassignment, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke testified before Congress that the department would use reassignments as part of its effort to eliminate employees; the only reasonable inference from that testimony is that he expects people to quit in response to undesirable transfers. Some of my colleagues are being relocated across the country, at taxpayer expense, to serve in equally ill-fitting jobs.

I believe I was retaliated against for speaking out publicly about the dangers that climate change poses to Alaska Native communities. During the months preceding my reassignment, I raised the issue with White House officials, senior Interior officials and the international community, most recently at a U.N. conference in June. It is clear to me that the administration was so uncomfortable with this work, and my disclosures, that I was reassigned with the intent to coerce me into leaving the federal government.

We had a chance to stop these guys. To stop a world where these were the people in power, where these would be the diligent efforts of U.S. administrators, legislators, and policymakers.

We either didn't want to, or didn't feel it was important enough. That's a collective decision we'll all have to reckon with. The silver lining is, I hope it informs us all for the future.

let's hope trump and his flat earth society are right and man isn't changing the weather...cause if he and his tribe are wrong mankind will pay 1 hell of a price. FWIW....i trust the scientist more than i trust the angry orange president

How small do you think his pee-pee is? Seriously - he can't be reading or understanding the impact of any of these things he is taking away. He is motivated only by doing the opposite of the black man who held the office (honorably) before him.

The Environmental Protection Agency says it plans to scrap an Obama-era measure limiting water pollution from coal-fired power plants.

A letter from EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt released Monday as part of a legal appeal said he will seek to revise the 2015 guidelines mandating increased treatment for wastewater from steam electric power-generating plants.

Acting at the behest of electric utilities who opposed the stricter standards, Pruitt first moved in April to delay implementation of the new guidelines. The wastewater flushed from the coal-fired plants into rivers and lakes typically contains traces of such highly toxic heavy metals as lead, arsenic, mercury and selenium.

What was that you were saying about money in politics, Moiraine?

This guy is causing SO. MUCH. DAMAGE. Sorry, TGH, but he is proving he's a 100% pro-business, anti-environment kook.
