Underdog against Purdue

My question is, how many of the Seniors and Juniors of Coach Pelini recruits are on the field, actually seeing playing time?  Not a dig at either, but it appears we have some very good young players on the field and are doing well.  It seems to me we have few seniors on the field and haven't for quite a while.  I know we have not put many in the NFL the last few years.

Using current expected starters, with recruiting class.  2015 was the transition class.

From Riley's two full classes: 3 offensive starters (4 counting Lee), 1 defensive starter, 6 others

2015 Class after Riley got here: 0 offensive starters, 0 defensive starters, 5 others

2015 Class before Riley: 2 offensive starters, 4 defensive starters, 1 other

Pelini: 5 offensive starters, 6 defensive starters, 1 other

Offensive Starters:

2017 - Lindsey, Jaimes

2016 - Spielman

2015 - Morgan, Decker

2014 - Farmer, Gates, Foster, DPE, Wilbon

Transfer - Lee

Walk-on - Hoppes, McNitt

Defensive Starter:

2017 - None

2016 - Jackson

2015 - Lee, CDavis, KDavis, Young

2014 - Akinmoladun, Stoltenberg, Gifford, Kalu, Jones

2013 - Newby

Others that see the field a lot:

2017 - Thomas

2016 - Dismuke, Farniok, Bryant, Stille, Bootle

2015 - Ozigbo, Barry, Ferguson, ADavis, Reed, AWilliams

2014 - None

2013 - Knevel

However, often times after a loss the losing players try too hard to win the next game and end up making thoughtless mistakes. While Purdue may be ‘up’ for this game it might not be enough. Huskers, on the other hand, have had a week off and have had plenty of time to get ready for this game. If our boys play their positions and Tanner brings in his A game we can win this game. I would much rather believe our boys can win instead of believing they can’t.

Not a shocker. Both are 3-4 and we are 1-2 against the spread. Purdue left a lot of points off the board against Rutgers and moved the ball all day long but they have serious issues at the quarterback position. This is a game where we need to get a pass rush going and be a little more aggressive with our coverage.

I don't care who the next coach is, but the contract should include a clause that allows the coach to be fired with no additional payments if Nebraska is an underdog to a Purdue team with  losing record.

I know it's frustrating but we can't let Vegas dictate our football program and head coach. It definitely does raise some eye brows.
