"A lot of the things I learned at Nebraska that I was supposed to do...it's wrong,"

Well, the Rams haven't been known as defensive juggernauts the last few years.

Coaching staffs have different techniques they like to teach. Carriker's comments weren't an indictment of NU's coaches, just a blunt assessment of how things are taught differently in different systems.

He didn't say it was wrong. He said if he does it there, it's wrong.

It's not really that surprising if you ask me, considering he has/is:

a) changed positions.

B) plays for a different team in a different system.

Its because they moved him from DE to DT! All he was saying is that he can't perform the same moves that he did as an end so he has to learn to be a DT now! No hate to Nebraska there whatsoever!!! GBR! :wasted

Well there is obviously going to be some difference between pro ball and college ball. Different techniques may work better for that team so he has to learn them. No problem for him though because the guy is a workhorse!!!

You have to see the context in which it was asked ...

"One of the chief challenges in moving from defensive end at Nebraska to tackle here is expunging many of the techniques he used in college.

"A lot of the things I learned at Nebraska that I was supposed to do, if I do it here, it's wrong," he said. "So I'm unlearning some of the stuff that I'd been taught for three or four years. But other than that, I'm adjusting pretty well."

I'd never believe that someone was posting a partial quote just to spark off a debate. :sarcasm :moreinteresting
