I was under the inpression that his lean towards Iowa was more because he prefers to play in a 4-3.
Haha yeah, that always sounded like good ole fashion counter-recruiting from Iowa to me. I’m sure they gave him that idea. He visited here and our staff put that silly notion to rest.

Alabama has Mike LBs who are 6’4”, 250lbs but the rest of the country has Mike LBs who are Honas’ size. Cichy is 6’3” but Edwards is 6’1”. Heck, the SF 49ers had two incredible 3-4 ILBs in 6’1” Patrick Willis and barely 6’ Navarro Bowman.

The Wisconsin offer is seriously making him reconsider. He wants to OV there but can’t until the new year, so it’s throwing a wrench in his plans to sign at this early signing period.

Wisco's linebacker coach is leaving to take the defensive coordinator position at Oregon State. Pretty sure they won't be in it.

Tim Tibesar, the referenced coach that left for Oregon State, coached Wisconsin's OLBs.  His departure won't swing things one way or another. Bob Bostad coaches ILBs.

Recruiting: JUCO linebacker Will Honas still mulling over options, may decide this week

Top junior college linebacker Will Honas said Wednesday morning he might still sign with a four-year school this week. If he does, the Butler County (Kan.) Community College star will pick between offers from Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas State.
But there's a recent Wisconsin offer — which came after Honas visited Nebraska last weekend — that thickens the plot.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder — ranked as the top inside linebacker in the JUCO ranks — could visit UW just before the junior college early signing period ends Jan. 15. Because the Badgers don't start school until Jan. 23, Honas would still be able to enroll in school and not miss a day.

Nebraska starts school on Jan. 8. The last day to register for a full load of spring semester classes is Jan. 16. Iowa starts class on Jan. 16.
So if Honas visits Wisconsin in mid-January, advantage Badgers and Hawkeyes.
