The Offending Posts Commentary Thread

I think I got suspended for a week once for (very) obviously joking about killing some people or something. Like maybe even Westboro I can't remember. But yeah, that seems like a big no no.

Yeah, I thought it might fly under the radar since it wasn’t directed at a specific poster. Well it was intended for a specific poster, I just didn’t know who it was  :lol: . But apparently it was enough to get a message in my inbox. 

Now that we’re in the shed though, that person is a chickensh#t dbag. If they disagreed with something I said they should’ve had the balls to say what was wrong with it and put their name to it.

 
Generally speaking, referring to another board member in a profane manner is unacceptable. Mods/admins can see who reacts to posts so we know exactly who the post was targeting. That said, the post would've still been moved.

Posters are going to be using these reactions regularly now that they're a part of the board. If the 'anonymous' use of them becomes an issue then they'll end up going the way of the negative rep system.

I use it as a replacement for the -1 reaction I wish we had. I don't always feel the need to respond, so I just rolling eyes react and move on. (Although I don't think it was me that rolling eyed the post your talking about.)

And the rolling eyes are a perfect response to many posts. I just didn’t feel like the post in question deserved that type of anonymous response. Sometimes it’s much better to explain why you disagree. I would’ve received that better and then at least I would know what user to ignore going forward. Guessing it was just a trolling attempt or that they didn’t want their name associated with disagreeing with it. So......I called them a douchebag. Appropriate but frowned upon.
