Maurice Washington Faces Charges

I don't think sending the video back to the person qualifies as "revenge porn" because it is still private. Even if he's charged, the prosecution still has to meet each element of the crime which I don't think they will be able to do.

Washington is going to go face his charges.

'This will be a self-surrender,' attorney of Husker player facing criminal charges says

The attorney for a Husker football player facing criminal charges in California released new information about the case Tuesday.

John Ball, who is representing Husker running back Maurice Washington, told Channel 8 Eyewitness News that arrangements are in progress for Washington to voluntarily return to California.

"This will be a self-surrender," Ball said in an email. "Not an arrest."

Officials in California say they have have requested an arrest warrant for Washington.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office told Channel 8 Eyewitness News that Washington, who was one of the Huskers' top recruits in last year's class, faces 'revenge porn' and child porn charges in relation to a video he allegedly sent an ex-girlfriend.

The video allegedly shows the sexual assault of the woman, though officials said Washington did not take part in the alleged assault.

A spokesman for the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office said Monday night that an arrest warrant had been requested, but said a judge had not signed off on it at that time.

Ball said the logistics of Washington's return are still being worked out.

He also said the timeline of the case going forward is unclear.

"It really depends on how we resolve the case," he said. "For example, a jury trial is the slowest, longest path, but other possible dispositions, such as a plea agreement or diversion or some other alternative disposition could be much faster."

NU athletics released released a statement Monday afternoon, saying they had been contacted about the case but did not know specific details.

“Last fall we were contacted by the Nebraska Attorney General’s office and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln police department and made aware that officials in California were interested in interviewing Maurice Washington about a prior incident," the statement said.

I see they perpetuate the use of the term "sexual assault" without the adjective "alleged," further fueling confusion as to what's actually happening.  Nice.

Earlier reports said the arrest warrant had been requested in mid-December. I would presume the holidays had something to do with the delay, and perhaps there's a case backlog or some other extenuating circumstances, but one would think that in the middle of February there would be some movement on this by now.

I have a "friend" on Facebook who posts s#!t articles like "All accidental pregnancies are mens fault because the have penises" and makes comments like "I'm appalled at how men don't realize or apologize enough for being men because some men rape therefore all men should feel bad".

Mind you, I know this chick because I worked with her 12 years ago in Lincoln when she cheated on her boyfriend with me by pushing me into a supply room and making out with me.  But yeah, perspective and all that jazz

As an aside, you seem to get a lot of tail. 20 year olds when you’re 14, coworkers shoving you into closets :thumbs  ...what’s your secret? Axe body spray?
