The Village of the "Banned"

What annoys me most is it was just a straight up chickensh#t mod move. It wasn't offending so they couldn't move it to the offending posts thread. It was on topic so it didn't belong in a tangent thread. It didn't break any board rules or attack anyone. So they just nuked it. A real b#tch move if you ask me. And so far the guilty mod doesn't have the balls to step up and take credit.
The amount of consternation this is causing you is ridiculous. Your first complaint in this thread was 17 hours ago and you're treating the lack of response as if someone burned your house down and 911 isn't responding.

You had a post hidden on a message board. Chill. It doesn't matter who did it and picking a fight about it isn't going to do anything for you. Looking at your post, it's pretty clear why it was hidden. You're trying to sell it as something innocent when you've spent years complaining about Roxy and occasionally flaming her when the urge comes over you. If that has resulted in you losing benefit of the doubt... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

I've tried to take a more proactive approach in recents months by cutting down on some of her pointless threads and apparent Google thought dumps, locking threads and encouraging her to change posting habits. I'm not particularly thrilled about the way she treats the board and I've been trying to engage other mods/admins on a good way to address it.

P.S. Can confirm - I'm not getting any cookies.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but typically, if someone repeatedly ignores friendly suggestions from a mod, it progresses to warnings, suspensions, bannings...right?

Not saying she should be banned, but she is the one who routinely clutters the board and uses it in a way that a message board is not intended to be used...not JJ. Maybe there needs to be some stronger reminders from mods about message board etiquette.

She could be warned (if she hasn't been already) or suspended. Anyone else would have been. And JJ's post should not have been deleted.

You're not wrong. I'm not particularly interested in hashing out another debate about Roxy but personally my patience has grown more thin recently.

There's a difference between using phrases or slurs or attacking posters or derailing threads or being disruptive and......being bad at the internet and sharing too many cookie recipes.

There is still an opportunity to take corrective action and to learn how to be better. Most of us want the board to be a better place for conversation, which is what is intended for, not use it as a faux instagram or pinterest account.

I'm not near as upset or anxious as you may think I am. I made the post you responded to knowing it would generate a response. Sorry if it struck a nerve.

You're right, her posting style bugs me. So sue me. But I also feel blowing away my post in that thread was bullsh#t. My post was a passive aggressive way to give her a hint that her thread titles suck. But, there was nothing about my post that should've caused a mod to delete it.  The fact that your only excuse for deleting it is my history of b!^@hing about her posting style (in the shed) bears that out. Saying I "flamed" her is about the most ridiculous thing I've heard. So I was in a little bit of a pissy mood yesterday, I'll get over it. But I'll never understand what was wrong enough or bad enough about my post to warrant a mod to act on it. Apparently we disagree on that. It happens.

@knapplc It doesn't look like it. Tried searching in the mod forum for mentions of his name, and it's all just issues related to cornstar (i.e. him breaking board rules when he was member five years ago).

I warned Scarlet/Cornstar for Flaming two weeks ago. He sent me a long PM about how it was a "false accusation." Turns out he sent a similar email to @AR Husker Fan years ago when he was accused of flaming and suspended then, too  . He saw him self as a victim constantly, not too different than Bliztfirst if I'm honest.

It's sort of baffling to me that someone who has 90% of their posting activity in a forum called "Big Red Recipes" causes this much consternation amongst some people. But, I like to live and let live, so constern away if that's what floats your boat.
The “unread content” page is by far the best way to get caught up on board activity, since you can avoid jumping from one forum to another. But if there are 20 single-post threads that are not intended to generate discussion, it certainly clutters things up.
