Can I get odds on hunter and Nebraska55fan being the same guy?
You don't want those odds.  Hunter been a member since 2004 with the same style.  He must have lost his ID/PW recently and recreated new one.  Because he don't care.

I kinda like his short "don't give a crap, tell it like I see it" style.  No harm in that.

The other person I have no clue what's going on there.

Given the last 6+ years, EVERY year the "Let the streak die!" "END THE SELLOUT STREAK" "Sellouts are stoopid" crowds come out.

Every

Year

Facebook is worse, but it gets tiresome.  Usually I ignore it, but f#&% me....we haven't made a bowl since my oldest kid was born a couple months before.  The sellout streak is the last thing we have, and it's not about the program or the team or the results.  It's about the fans.  So fans trying to s#!t on other fans picnics gets annoying.

Maybe went a little hard in the paint on the Sellout streak, but my goodness, people are really in their feels about it.
Your explanation for wanting it to end (and your responses to the people disagreeing with you) suggest you hold a similar level of "feels" about the whole thing, which is why I think you got the reaction you did. The streak is an overwhelmingly popular tradition/record, regardless of the product on the field and the program's two decades of mediocrity, so suggesting it be sent out on a funeral pyre is naturally going to draw some heat.

Plus, I find the arguments for it ending to be a bit silly anyways. Most people can't make an argument against the streak without somehow drawing attention to the program's overall lack of success and relevance, so they're making the streak about the performance on the field. This suggests the reverse would be true as well i.e. success and relevance would make the streak matter. Seems a bit convenient.

The sellout streak is largely for the fans and marketing purposes. It's not so different from any other record or tradition. The real issue is that the program has been struggling for on two decades now, and it has virtually nothing to do with how many butts are in seats on Saturdays. It's a weird outlet for the aggression IMO.

Honestly, not really; at least not to the vitriolic level that some took it to be. I mean, I guess to have an opinion on it (or anything in general) indicates some level of emotional reaction to it, but not enough to warrant more than a two word post and subsequent explanation when pressed on it.

Ha...yeah that got ugly fast and it just kept going!

Apparently it is impossible for @Nebraska55fan to express his opinion or summarize current events in a post without adding "I've said it before", "just like I said it would", "I was right, I'm always right" etc.  The funniest part is, it's always just a regurgitation of things everyone knows is happening but somehow he is f#cking Kreskin the all seeing.
