The best hope for any life of a running game me thinks is on the edges.  That means you put Rahmir in the backfield, he's also the best threat catching the ball of the RBs as well

 
Yep. I'm a "Run the Damn Ball Guy" but if you see that your O-line can't even get you 1 or 2 yards, you have to adjust and lean into what is working.

If I'm Whipple stick with your passing game, mix in some screens, and maybe in the 2nd half dial up some zone-reads instead of just basic inside zone. That depends on what they're seeing from Northwestern's edge players. 
It's like Whip's O at Pitt.  When you have a Hypeman contender and 2 receivers close to/over 1000 yards and the Biletnekoff winner pass all day.  I'm just sick of seeing an NU OL that can't when the LOS against a P5 team
