This is the type of info weve been waiting for from IBR found on another blog "Solly" was his or her name READ THIS:
All right, at the risk of another sh!tstorm in my "Inbox", (and there damn sure better not be any more anonymous calls to my home in the middle of the night!), here are a few posts from the Champions Club outlining the last few days' rumblings:
Saturday Night:
Just a few tremors so far.
Same $ people who met after last week's debacle met again today. In fact, they were still in one of the skyboxes at 8PM.
Something will happen this week, whether it's a sacrificial lamb, (Cosgrove), to buy time, or wholesale changes, (3 or 4 coaches, including Callahan), to clean house.
Tom isn't involved with these buyout negotiations, and I don't think he'll be able to stop some action from being taken.
Dark times, friends and neighbors.
I'll be talking with some folks tomorrow.
Sunday Afternoon:
Lawyers from Texas in Lincoln today. They were at the game with big $ guys yesterday, managed the meeting, and have been in contact with Callahan's agent.
Through that agent, Callahan has been asked to resign yet again, effective before close of business Monday. He has turned down all previous offers, each time demanding more money. The pot is up to the full value of his extended contract - which is still under what his agent has demanded.
Cosgrove will go if Callahan goes, stay if he stays; his representative's stated position is that he will follow Bill's lead.
BFFs indeed.
No further specifics on other assistants, except that Watson IS willing to stay on as interim HC/OC/QB coach, and asking for an interview for OC under a new head coach.
Still a couple of people I'm trying to corral for info, but basically, if anything is to be done this week, it will be done in the next 30 hours or so. If nothing happens, it will mean that Callahan is trying to squeeze even more money to haul his sorry a$$ out of town.
Sunday Night:
One source so far...
Representatives from all the principal players in this little drama appear to be very close to a deal.
Still no word on any resignation finding its way to TO; might be a bit early for that.
Something could happen yet tonight, but I wouldn't look for any public announcements until tomorrow.
I'll see if I can confirm with a couple of other sources, and let you know.
This Morning:
Very quiet since last night. I've talked with 2 people this morning, both of whom think that something will happen today. However, no one is offering more than speculation so far as details. That speculation ranges from BC resigning and leaving RFN, to resigning and finishing the season, to announcing that he absolutely will not resign.
There are some rumblings - only one source, but a good one - that TO was none too pleased with BC after their postgame meeting, (for which Callahan was 20 minutes late), in either the answers he got or with BC's attitude. Bottom line, BC resents the hell out of Osborne, and has been surly and uncooperative - shocking. Osborne doesn't think much of Callahan, either by all accounts.
I would offer only this: There is no practice today. If any action is to be taken, it will be today, perhaps tomorrow morning at the latest, in my opinion. With the team embarking on a 2-game road swing, (4-6 coming right up!), it seems unlikely that anything will happen until after the season if it does not happen this week.
Here's hoping.
More as I get it.
