You're an educated grown up. Can you think of any reasons those words and stories did not appear as frequently in past decades?
I’m grown up. Educated might be a stretch but I have stayed at a few Holiday Inn Express Hotels. Back in my early thirties before switching to Marriott so that’s probably why I’m not as educated anymore
The charts seem fine as reflected by the data unless you have different data to share

Look at the data and the leading premise and give me a more intelligent answer as to why those words and subjects were not as frequently covered in previous decades.
I gave you an extremely intelligent answer.
You are more than welcome to share your opinion as to why you disagree with the data however. It’s a free country still unless Trump wins later this year.

It reflects words that weren't in use and topics that the media typically avoided. It does not conclude that America is more prejudiced than it used to be, simply that the media began to give the topics more frequent coverage which -- interestingly enough -- has helped lead to a less prejudiced America.

Someone seems a little grumpy this morning. Helpful tidbit for next time….i usually just have a cup of coffee or two and utilize a couple deep breaths instead of ripping off goodfellas and the urban dictionary in order to tell someone to F’ off because you are upset that person is correct. Welp, that’s my good deed for the day.
Oh, by the way, outside of Trans discussions….why would those discussions all of a sudden spike in the last ten years when they have been known issues. Unless you weren’t aware racism was a much bigger issue in the 80’s, 70’s 60’s and before (as an example)

I have to entertaining to hear about Joy Reid and Rachel Madow meltdowns. May they are in the denial stage of grief.
MSNBC's Joy Reid, who has questioned whether Trump was actually shot with a bullet at his rally on Saturday, argued on Wednesday that President Biden getting COVID-19 and recovering was "the same thing" as Trump surviving an assassination attempt.
"This current President of the United States is 81 years old and has COVID, should he be fine in a couple of days, doesn't that convey exactly the same thing? That he’s strong enough – older than Trump – to have gotten something that used to really be fatal to people his age. So, if he does fine out of it and comes back and is able to do rallies, isn't that exactly the same?" Reid said.
"These two men are both elderly. Donald Trump is an elderly man who, for whatever reason, was given nine seconds to take an iconic photo op during an active shooter situation. Weird situation, we'll figure that out one day," Reid said.
And Madow with her Lord of the Rings White Nationalism Easter eggs from JD Vance.
"Like his mentor, like Peter Thiel, who had given him all his jobs in the world, Mr. Vance also when he founded his own venture capital firm with help from Peter Thiel, named it after a Lord of the Rings thing. He called it Narya, N-A-R-Y-A, which you can remember because it’s Aryan, but you move the n to the front," Maddow said. "Apparently, that word has something to do with elves and rings from the Lord of the Rings series, I don’t know."
