Yep, in '86. I think TO was 1-4 against Bowden with that being the lone victory. I know him defeated him in '86 for sure, but that record may not be completely correct. May need to check.

I don't like that just because I told soooo many VT fans that NU would easily win by 21+ points if we played now...I would have to eat so much crow if that didn't happen.

Did Dr. Tom ever beat Free Shoes U? I don't think he did (someone please correct me if I am wrong). Thus, if my assumption is correct, and if Bo manages to pull it off -- what a way to end his first year -- doing something TO never accomplished.

I'm not sure we would be favored to beat any of these teams, but we probably could beat any of them on a flukey day.

For Long term bennefits, I'd like to see us against Ga. Tech.

It's also Paul Johnson's first year and many considered him for our head coaching job.

I'd like our coaches (And some of you fans) to see 1st hand, how relevant the option still is and maybe give added incentive to put more of it back..It will be all the rage after Defenses catch up with our fast break Offenses of today.

It would be nice to finally beat them. (we're 0-1)

How do so many forget the game in '81? Oh yeah, you weren't born yet. I can still see Tony Felice recovering that fumbled kick return. The '80 and '81 games were both in Lincoln because FSU was a girls school back when the schedule was made. That's why Burt Reynolds went there. I think he dated Lee Corso.

 
Uh, I don't wanna play any of them...maybe BC is the most winnable. Or Clemson. We don't wanna play GT, no way.

Kinda wished we were going to the Alamo and playing WI or something. On the flip side, if we were to win the Gator bowl vs FSU or GT (or VT) it would be HUGE!

FSU would be a good 'Avenge' type thing. Don't think we've beaten them since like '85, when they were bad. They have alotta speed though, made CU look pretty silly.

That GT loss was considered unthinkable, I mean, their point total......my how things have changed.

 
For those of you that suggest we don't want to play GT, it appears that the reason is you don't think we can beat them or we can't handle them. If so, allow me to suggest that should be THE reason you want to play them. My take on Bo is not that he or his team would cower from a tough challenge. My take on Bo is that he would relish the challenge, and hopefully, he' instilling that in the hearts and minds of these young men, rebuilding what I always thought was the heart of Hukser football. Playing only teams you think you can beat is not what makes a champion.

Personally, I'd rather the seniors go out on an even higher note than worrying about our team being a 'champion' right now.

Actually, we could give any of those teams a run for their money, but I'd rather be 9-4 with a win over, say, BC, than 8-5 with another loss to FSU or GT. GT's pretty hot right now.

Still too many scars from losses to FSU in Florida, I guess, for me. I think their D could shut us down pretty good.

If you guys think that GT's option attack is scary, how do you not think that FSU's receiving corps is scary?

Parker, Carr, Surrency and Reed would all be our #1 or #2 receiver if they played at Nebraska. Parker and Carr are especially talented. Can you imagine our beleaguered secondary trying to cover these guys? Add that to the fact that they throw Robinson in there sometimes at QB for some mobility.

I am all for playing FSU, but personally think we match up better defensively against GT.
