Hey how bout that Oku kid that moved to Lincoln... whats up with him??

Good call HSKRNOKC, this thread was going in the wrong direction fast. But someone had to stick up for the kid, as he was getting bashed from all directions.

I want Oku in Husker red. I just don't feel that he is the primma-donna that Brown is. I think he will find that Lincoln will feel like home very quickly, so why not just stay around for a while. Like four more years.

Has it ever gone in the right direction?

The guy is a prima donna and isn't Scarlet and Cream worthy.

The thing is if Burkehead was promised no other RBs would be taken, I would think Bo would keep his word and not take him regardless if OKU is interested or not. Willie, do you know if Burkehead was promised such? Can anyone confirm that?

I really dont like this situation... i think this could come back and haunt us in the end with a long investigation and god knows what kind of punishment... or some TENNESEE head coach calling us out on a violation... I'm not sure this player is really worth the kind of trouble that i feel is brewing.

He won't be calling anyone out any time soon. He got b!^@h slapped down by Urban Meyer and had to apologize for what he said. I imagine Tennessee's president told him to keep quiet after that.

Pretty sure when I was up at East today I saw him walking to his car...had all the East gear on.

The guy I coach with is a teacher at East and I asked him what was up with Oku, and he said that East has this e-learning thing, that in his words, "a third grader could pass."

Remeber, the kid is only 18 years old, under the right direction(Bo's), I'm sure he will mature. Plus, you should not believe everything you read. You should not pass judgement on someone until you meet them. I would have decommitted from UT for sure when they hired an a$$-hat like Kiffin. Oops, there I go passing judgement, but I think alot of people would agree with me about that dude.

I wanted to note that as weird as this whole Oku story is, it does not mean he is a prima donna as people are implying. Again, normal kids make their college choices by May 1st. It's just the move and the reasons he put out that don't completely make sense, but the coaches know more about his character than we do.

Also can anyone confirm that contact has been established?

Why is he a prima donna? Cause he decommitted from a school and didn't sign on signing day? He has done his best to keep out of the media and my guess is he is trying to get his grades to make sure he can qualify.

Has anyone even heard Burkhead being promised this? There was already one player coming when he commited and others with offers. I mean, everyone knows we use more than one back. And Bo has said many times that no one is promised anything. So why would that change for Rex? Isn't it more likely that they just plain didn't need Oku?

My understanding is that Burkhead was never made this promise, and nor would he have solicited it. Nebraska coaches simply had reserved one spot for a runningback. I'm happy with who we got.
