Maybe it did happen maybe it didn’t, I don’t have any idea. I sure as heck aren’t going to base my belief off of some random person on a message board saying it is so, all the while saying that they can’t tell people how they know they just need to trust that they do in fact know. Also the fact that this chain e-mail is now floating around and people are posting it as “fact” makes it even fishier to me. <_<

I wouldn’t believe anyone that I actually know (in real life) if they wouldn’t reveal how they know to me so I’m surely not going to believe someone online if they won’t reveal their source. :ahhhhhhhh

Anonymous sources and people close to the situations are lame. IMO. :facepalm: :moreinteresting

 
One thing that strkes me as not being true AT ALL, is the fact that this whole rumor started back in what, December, and it has still not been addressed by ANYONE from the athletic department. if this really happened that long ago, and actions are inevitable, decisions wouldve been made by now. The fact that the athletic dept, Carl, nor Bo have come out publicly against this tells me they are ignoring it and working on recruiting, because they certainly seem like the type of guys that do not partake in some stupid a$$ rumor to have to come out publicly to denounce it.

Could you imagine Bo, Carl, and Dr. Osborne gathered for a beer, Carl says "see that sh#t, people got me bangin former Miss Nebraska", Bo says "no sh#t, hell, they got me hittin on Suh's sister", Osborne says "I got you both beat, I really did almost leave for Colorado"

My Left throwin' shoulder has been killing me all day.

I haven't dreamed of being a QB since sandlot, although some of the old neighborhood "kids" still called me "Unitas" when I went back for my 30yr reunion last Summer...I've been a linebacker almost my whole life..Even led my 8th grade Basketball team in tackles after my two week stint on the wrestling team (got kicked off the team for tackling).

Seems like forever since I entered any beauty pageants..(I was lost, but quickly got a job tapeing their ankles ..and a few mamaries together).

And Mom never calls anymore...Although she does a good job pretending to remember me when I call her.

So is it a reliable source? I understand that it won't be revealed to to a question of taste, however is it a source that we can all trust? Or is it just more hearsay?

 
I'll tell you what I've heard, and I don't think I've ever posted in Rumorville before. My dad just told me 5 minutes ago "Did you hear about Carl Pelini?" I said, "No, what?" He told me that he'd heard about an affair, that the guy was a banker in Grand Island who has now moved to Arizona. Now, I haven't read much of this thread besides skimming it, so I'm not just circulating what I've heard.

Here's the thing that really worries me - my dad said that Tom Osborne called Bo into his office and said something along the lines of "You may need to get rid of Carl." And wait for it - Bo's response: "If Carl goes I go." sh#t.

I don't know how much of this is true, like most in here I'm just telling you what I've heard. But it does not sound good. I dismissed this whole thread when we heard nothing about it for weeks and weeks, but to hear about it randomly this morning.. like most have said, where there's smoke there's fire.

Maybe Turner Gill will be here sooner than we all thought. Will this sh#t never end?

 
My friend just said he'd heard that himself awhile go, so who knows what it all means. Hopefully nothing, hopefully this is just a rumor that will flare out and all will continue well. I just hate to think about all the progress we've made be for nothing if something were to happen with Bo/Carl. Pray it's just a rumor.

 
It's mostly being perpetuated around the internet from this thread. This has been linked by many big12 team forums, a few outside the big 12 and even a few nfl forums, etc.

 
I have yet to hear any rumor about this outside this message board. Granted if you Google for it, you can find it on other boards, but who knows what's going on. I just want this story to go the heck away.

This is not good for substance reasons, and even if it is true, obviously morally wrong. The part that upsets me the most, is if Bo really said, "If Carl goes, I go." We don't want our head coach saying stuff like that, and if Osborne really recommended that Carl should go, then he is in the wrong there. It's Pelini's staff and he should be handle it accordingly unless there was a law broke.

ASSUMING....this is all true, of course, which I tend to believe (maybe blind hope) that it's not.

One more point I'd like to make, how would this be true, especially Osborne recommending Carl be let go, if he JUST got an 80% pay raise?

I know where there's smoke there's fire, but please, let this be all false and just crap floating around. We don't need this and it just needs to go away, but with every passing day, seems a "new spin" to the story is found.

 
I hadn't heard it anywhere but here until this morning from my dad, and unless one of you is my dad posting on here, then I thought it was really strange to hear it from him. I felt sick when I heard the "If he goes, I go" statement, but feel a bit better after my friend said he'd heard that awhile ago. However, I'm pretty sure that the affair did happen. And didn't Carl not end up getting that raise? I heard it was in talks, but wasn't sure if it ever went through.

 
In repsonse to the last two or three posts............. all of this has been posted for quite awhile now. I understand that you and your father just heard it today, but it has been a discussion on this board for about a month now, including the part that concerns Bo's statement. Don't get too worried. internet rumor since bowl game.

It is beginning to look as if the rumor of the affair MAY have substance, but that is the only thing that has been remotely "proven" from unamed sources.

Even if it is true, Bo and Carl are NOT going anywhere. Extra-marital affairs are typically not a means for dismissal. Although, not morally ethical...it probably doesn't break any "contract language".

Believe me..... you could have a laundry list of past coaches at NU that have had track records.......... Solich, Nee, Devany, and a few athletes messing with married women and yes, boosters wives. I bet this happens around the country more than most would like to believe.

As far as the booster is concerned (apparently soon to be ex. "father-in-law"......get over it !!!!! He needs to understand that it takes 2 to tango. The woman shares the blame too. Guess what...$$$$$$$$ doesn't fix everything. Take your little $$$$ ego and put it elsewhere. I think UNL will survive somehow.
