How far do you think we can move up

ummm... we are fans not players... It does not affect the team if we talk about the rankings,we do not need to focus on anything unless we are on the coaching staff. :facepalm:

 
It sucks that Okie Lite is the lowest ranked undefeated team. They barely exist in the national media. So I doubt we get much love from the pollsters. We'd fly up in the computers though (currently 20th).

Who cares who wins or loses above us, we need to win the next game, nothing more nothing less. We don't do that we will have half the board firing somebody and the other half throwing the kids under the bus.

We have no business on the field with the NC teams. We have a lost to a two loss team that got beaten by UCLA. If Oregon does not beat them by 50 points it will be a miracle. I have quit watching the slaughter.

We fooled our way through a bunch of teams that could not break out of a paper bag. Could not stop a marshmellow.

Lets win a game of importance before we start worrying about moving up. Most likely we are headed down.

 
I don't have any problem with talking about ratings. I just think our loss Saturday likely made them moot as far as we're concerned. Barring a rash of upsets I'd say we're out of the MNC-hunt and we likely have to take the con to make a BCS game with Boise and TCU taking two of the at-large spots and there likely being a couple one-loss BCS-teams to take the other two spots.

Yeah those Non AQ schools are a pain,I think that Tcu might lose to Utah later in the season and drop from the T-10.

 
For all of us who like to speculate, which is fun to do.

I hope Okl beats Mizzo, in a close game so Mizzo doesn't drop to far in the polls. Will look better for us, if we can handle them next week. Would need for Okl to be undefeated in the Big-12 championship game, if we run the table for a shot at all the marbles. The way the top teams keep getting knocked off each week, you never know!

I think we jump 3-5 spots. Could be back in the top-10 in some polls.

I agree. Where we're at in the Top 25 is no longer particularly relevant. That only matters if we're in the hunt for a NC which, obviously, we're not.

Just win and get to a BCS bowl. We do that, we'll end up Top 5, if we win the bowl game.

I have my doubts of that happening. Not sure this team is tough enough. Bo's teams seem brittle, somehow. Probably not every player can be as intense as he is, all the time. And so it wears on them. Dunno. Just a theory.

If we even have a snowballs chance in Hell of playing for all the marbles, then we have got to cheer for OU to not only beat Mizzou but stay undefeated and #1 in the BCS until the Big 12 Championship Game. Personally, I don't think the BCS has the cajones to put TCU or Boise State in the title game. I look for at least one if not two one loss teams to play for all the marbles. I still believe Oregon drops at least one game before seasons end.

Which is exactly why I love college football!! Each weekend brings new surprises, upsets and wins that can and will change the entire outcome of the season for all of FBS football.

Couldn't have said it better myself. With all the strange things that have happened already this season, it's tough to rule any undefeated or one-loss team out of it at this juncture.

 
How far we go up depends largely on who loses a game in the four or five spots above us during that week. (Same with losing, going the other way.) If we win all the rest of our games--which doesn't look too realistic right now--we could end up in the middle of the top ten. Very doubtful we could make it to #2 and get in the MNC game. But I have my doubts that we have that caliber of team this year anyway.

I don't get why every time someone brings up a topic about polls, something along these lines is said. Everyone know we need to win games and focus on the job at hand, yadda yadda yadda. Just answer the freakin' question in the original post.

I think we can move up 3 spots give or take, depending on what happens in front of us.
