While we are in the world of fantasy here is my example for you to compare. Lets say a fry cook using the McDonald facilities started cooking drugs after hours at McDonalds. One day he was walked in on by the burger condiment application specialist while he was in the process of cooking a new batch of drugs. Now the specialist tells his shift manager, who tells the store manager, who tells the regional manager, who calls the police and not happens. A week later the fry is back at his after hour hobby cooking drugs. What recourse does the specialist have. If I were the specialist I could ask my shift manager why is the fry cook still here, please show me where in the McDonalds handbook that is ok to use the facilities for the purpose of cooking drugs. If the Manager says nothing I would them go to my regional and or just go to the cops.Maybe I'm crazy but it seems like some are overreacting here. Possibly cancelling games is absurd!
While horrible things happened, and I am in no way trying to undermine the atrocities that have been committed, why would any of the focus be on the football TEAM itself? Nothing done was an NCAA violation (assuming no ethical rules exist for loopholes) and that is all that matters on this. If PSU wanted to fire everyone involved, fine. If everyone involved was arrested and charged with a crime, fine.
It's like a fry cook getting a DUI and getting locked up(arbitrary example, NOT a direct comparison regarding severity). McDonalds is not going to stop making fries because the fry cook and is in jail because people are smart enough to differentiate the two. While people may not want to eat their fries after the incident it should have no bearing on those that are willing to stick it out and have kept their noses clean.
College football is a year-round effort of blood, sweat, and tears. To take that all away at this point is just cruel. The players have earned the right to finish.
Where the arrest could start coming is if say the cops come and ask do you know if there are drugs being cooked in this Mcdonalds by the fry cook. If the specialist says no, the manager says no, the regional manager says no and it found out that the specialist reported it and it went up the chain they would all face prosecution.
Now I know that Joe Pa has not been proven to say he was unaware of the assaults but the GA came to him and told him. This went all the way up the chain to the higher ups on campus. In the position that all of these people are in as paid state officials how could they just wash there hands of this just because they told someone else. There doesnt appear to be any follow up or questioning of why Sandusky was still on campus at all. Further more on campus still with kids.
