Nebraska Alternative (aka Sacrilegious) Uniform Slamma Ramma Extravaganza 2012

can i ask, has anyone like any alternative unis.? is creating a fan favorite alt. uni. just a fool's errand?
I could be wrong, but i think Adidas has made 4 atlernates (Nebraska, Notre Dame, Michigan, Wisconsin) and there isn't a single one that looks great. Nike may fudge a few up every year (see Georgia/Ohio State last year), but for the most part, they put out good products for their pro combat unis.

I think Adidas should just stop the madness.

i dont think its a fool's errand, as long as you understand the fan base of the school that your producing an alt. uni for. take DONU for example, if they would have done something similar to our usual game jerseys, but changed them to black or something like that, i think it would have been alot bigger hit than what they came with ( i dont hate the alt. unis we have tho). if you look at a school like texas tech, oregon, or maryland, you can go absolutely nuts and the fan bases are going to dig it.

Short answer, yes and yes.

Long answer. I like the majority of Oregon's uniforms and I liked Stanford's last year as well. I thought Wisconsin's uniforms for the Rose Bowl were a nice touch.

I know a lot of people didn't like Georgia's red silver and black alternated but I thought it was kind of cool and futuristic. But I loved Sparty and Michigan's last year and I thought Arizona State's were pretty slick as well. So I guess I like most of them. The rest I was probably indifferent too except Maryland's. Their's were whacky but I respect them because out of all the uniforms they had an actual reasoning behind them.

I think Adidas needs to either do subtle things like Wisconsin's Rose Bowl uniforms and not be so crazy, like they are and that might help things, or create a theme not just stupid colors.

under armour did those horrific things

from what i deduce, adidas lacks the requisite creativity and competence to pull this off. i tend to agree.

second, there should have been a fan vote. it would have appeased the fans and caused more of a stir, ergo more publicity.

I think that's the biggest problem. There were people on this board who had more creative and (from what was rendered) better looking ideas.

I know I was just talking about alts. in general. As I recall Adidas only had three alternates last year in Michigan, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin (I could be wrong) and all of them were pretty decent. Like I said I thought Wisconsin's showed the most creativity. As much as I don't care for ND I will admit that I really like the gold gold dome helmets they had last year too.

It's what we get for letting Krauts make our uniforms.

Ya Adidas stop making these alternate jerseys so you can save these poor kittens that I've been kicking every time you fools reveal a new alternate jersey.

At least we don't look like Speed Racer

It's upside down, but if #5 gets upended he'll look just like him.

Am I the only one who thinks the pants look like tight pajama pants or sweat pants? Why does "Tech fit" have to = little boy pants?
Ever seen the Nike ones in which the model player is wearing the pro combat padded shorts underneath? Looks like the have some hemmroids poking out. Someone with better Internet insert ace Ventura .gif here.

They look like football pants to me.... And I know I say this a lot, but that jersey up there is freakin' sexy!!!
They would look more like football pants if they had a traditional belt waistband. I know the alternate uni thing is sort of a personal taste issue, but for goodness sake don't design the pants to be "pull-ups".
