A look at Mike Riley's offense

    Bo defenders, sound off here.

Seriously. We're tied 24-24 right now but even if we win, tell us all about how Bo's got the program headed in the right direction, and how now that Taylor Martinez is gone the offense is better, and about how this is the best defense we've had since 2009, and about how 2013 shouldn't count...

Cal beat Northwestern, and Pat Fitzgerald wishes Cal beat writers would've given him a heads-up

The Official Huskerboard Committee to Claim Championships

Let the inaugural summit of the Official Huskerboard Committee to Claim Championships come to order. Ladies and gentlemen of the Committee: since the dawn of college football the term "national title" has been nebulous at best. Even our august governing body, the En See Double Eh, does not...

Tommy Armstrong (and past NU QBs) - which "level" are they?

Reading an article about Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight, and in it the writer hypothesizes four "levels" of quarterback. Screencapped them because I couldn't get it to format for crap. So as we head into 2014, in your estimation which "level" best describes Tommy Armstrong? (And since it's the...

    So Bo's staying. Now what?

Now that Eichorst has confirmed that Bo's staying, what does he need to do to win YOU over, Bo-leaver? First, winning a bowl game sure would help. Everyone feels a little cheerier after a bowl win. And if the opponent happens to be Oklahoma or Texas then all the more. Second, failing that, a...

    Worst weather at Memorial Stadium

Reflecting on how nasty cold and windy it was in Iowa City last week, I was thinking back and trying to remember . . . has the weather ever been particularly nasty at Memorial Stadium? I was at the Colorado game in 1996 when it was rainy and icy and freaking cold, but beyond that I can't...

Hypothetical idea for discussion (independent NU?)

With the latest Big Ten expansion has come all sorts of talk about money and demographics and branding and so on. One article I read talked about the money tree that is the Big Ten Network, saying that since BTN makes money per cable subscriber regardless of whether a household even watches, the...

    Second half stats

In NU's conference wins we've outscored opponents 95-37 in second halves, including 26-3 yesterday. Factor in our non-conference wins and it's 158-57. In our two losses we've been outscored 40-20. (178-97 for the entire season.) Points are important, who knew?
