Nirvana is so overrated. They were different, not good. You can't understand half of what Cobain is singing. Foo Fighters are far better. Heck, Hole was better than Nirvana.
Also, add Seal / Crazy in that list of one-hit-wonders from the 90s. It just came up on my MP3 player, and while it's a good song, I can't recall any other song of impact Seal ever had.
This should be in a thread...Off the top of my head: "Bitter Sweet Symphony" – by The Verve followed closely by "Bonecrusher" by Soulhat ...Maybe "Sex and Candy" be Marcy Playground?
Who's Biz Markie? I like the Foo but reading that they are better than Nirvana "definitely" and "Without question"? makes me recollect how Jimi Hendrix was able to get booed off the stage at that Monkees concert..The Foo Fighters have some really catchy/"poppy"? songs..But they lack some of the depth of Nirvana's and you're (or at least I'm) probably unable to enjoy them for more than a hundred listens or so...Much like the Beatles tunes written mostl...
The thing about the Foo is that they seem to have really good songs and really bad songs. Nirvana was fine, but their impact was a product of MTV pimping "the new thing" as much as anything else.
