Take "religious freedom" out of the issue for me. I just don't want my tax dollars going to fund birth control or abortions. We shouldn't as a country pay for women to have the right to kill the defenseless, least with tax payer dollars. They can spend their own nickle on it.

How/when did tax dollars ever enter the picture? Although preventing certain people from procreating would be a good investment

Forced sterilization would sure cut down on Welfare payouts. Probably unethical though

It's interesting how it immediately jumps to an emotional women's rights argument when part of the time it doesn't have anything to do with it.

This is a tough problem. Is it worse to allow abortion, which is basically murder? Or is it worse to prohibit abortion, and let an unwanted child be born who doesn't get the care and nurturing a child deserves, and is likely to eventually end up on the public dole or become a criminal? I'm not sure which is worse. Personally, I am against abortion for any fetus I've conceived. But I'm not sure our gov't should impose that restriction on everyone. /end soapbox rant
