I was shocked on how there were no flagrant fouls called in LeBron's defense. That 1st QTR and 4 QTR were simple flagrant fouls. Sad how one sided that game was. Either way, they wouldn't have made it to 33 IMO.
Everyone complains how LeBron is being "soft", and obviously it takes more to foul him, but a full blown tackle is football, not basketball. Also, the league has changed a lot. Back in MJs day, you could punch someone and be fined $100, or retaliate, get a good hard foul, get the juices flowing, and it would be the end of it (for the most part) without getting ejected or technicals, etc.
Hinrich knew it wasn't anywhere near being a charge, that's why he grabbed him. That's his words, not mine. And while I agree, I'm not so sure you've ever seen a guy clotheslined without being called a flagrant - and then he gets a flagrant for lowering his shoulder into a pick. Call it both ways or neither at all. It's not that hard to understand.
Yeah that one on Gibson I think they kinda got hosed on, and I believe they called the flagrant on James because of his intent. It looked like he was trying to Hit Stick Boozer. And also LeBron, at least go after Gibson since he was the one the fouled you.
Yes, of course it was his intent, to get some "justice" on a "basketball" play for what he perceived as some poor officiating and let it be known without going too over the top. Don't forget he and Boozer have a little beef, also. LeBron was seen saying "that's your fault" to the officials after he did that. Nothing got stirred up, Boozer started talking to Lebron and Lebron walked away. No reason to call a flagrant. He got his retaliation, let it end. Or just...
