When you look at his total package of arm strength, athleticism, and ability to throw on the run he most certainly is in the conversation. Obviously, their is much more that goes into playing qb, namely grasp of the offense, thus the reason he never saw playing time. Check out his high school film in comparison to any other qb we have. He has special ability
If he was the best QB on the roster then he wouldn't have been riding pine behind Kellog, Lee, Martinez, and Green. Because trust me none of those guys have superior arm strength or ability to throw on the run.
You're entitled to your opinion, but I see Brion Carnes throwing 40 bullets on the run in HS. Taylor can't hold a candle to him in that capacity, but I still love him as our QB. Let's not forget, in the little bit we actually saw Brion play, I'd be willing to bet 75% of this board was drooling on their keyboards.
I see what 07 is saying-strictly from a qb skillset standpoint. Brion looked very pure and very natural. His mechanics and ability did not require offseason refining from a specialist as Taylors have. But again, quarterback is so much more than that, and, in this current day and age of football, raw qb skills/mechanics are probably a minority requirement-hence Taylor Martinez himself.
Brion is more talented than Taylor as a QB. Its simple to see that, but he just couldn't get the concept of the offense. I think saying he is a better QB than Armstrong is more of an opinion, rather than a fact. RKIII is NOT that bad. As he doesn't have the scrambling capabilities as Carnes, Martinez, and Armstrong, his decision making, ability to read defenses and knowledge is a lot better than the ones named previously. RKIII I think has the best arm we have, with Armstrong...
