We do it to ourselves with this up tempt gimmick sh#t. Run the spread. Fine. But huddle up and take your time. What's always the rush to get the other team's offense back on the field all the time? If we just do what we do, we dont need to trick anyone with tempo and personell.
It hasn't worked to our advantage yet. There hasnt been a single play that we can definitively say the up tempo made the play happen. There are multiple times our defense isn't lined up though. We don't run it fast enough to fool anyone, so why do it. Just put it on the list of dumb sh#t we never adjust.
It just elevates the game into this "psycho pace" feeling that in my opinion has such a effecton the guys mentally. Just gives them that frantic feeling. And frankly, we obviously have enough mental issues as it is so I dont know why we constantly pile on top of it by trying to play with a frantic style at a frantic pace. Am I on to something here?
