Not making excuses, but this is a game that we needed multiple breaks to go our way to win. They were more athletic than us and had WAY more size. We weren't going to clean up the offensive boards so we needed to nail our shots, force turnovers, and just get lucky. For a team that plays aggressive, in your face D that results in turnovers.... to have the refs call the game like that... it was just another one of the things that DIDN'T go our way. They could not have called a game less...

suited to our strengths. Still feel we got jobbed and they called a pansy game.

Just kind of surprised they didn't just let the guys play a little bit.

No but you can blame the refs when they eject our coach with 10 minutes left for no reason at all. That is inexcusable on this level.

Your kidding me right Ringer? Sure the REASON Miles got ejected is wrong, but Miles had it coming with how much he was in that refs ear, he already had a technical foul, and he came WAY out of the coaches box!

Well, he did have an excuse to do so...you know...try to coach his team and do the officials' job at the same time.

You have no excuse to run to the half court when there is a ref right there to make your case. Its just horrible timing for Miles.

It was ALL the refs fault. That's the story I'm going with damnit!

And apparently he tried telling the refs, but they ignored him (big surprise) so he went to the table to tell them. It's water under the bridge, as bad as NU shot all the coaches could've been ejected. We shot like sh*t.

we shot like sh#t...and baylor shot worse then we did. the 1,400 free throws they got to attempt was the difference

Nick, your point is really pretty spot on. I know the refs affected this game, 48 free throws to 16 is pretty crazy, but in the end, there were many things we could have done to win that game. We just didn't. Guys it's all okay. This team is young. It was awesome we made it. WE WILL BE BACK.

HuskerNationNick

I didn't see that at all. Either way, like True just said, we could have won that game if we would have done things differently. Give Baylor the 48 free throws, had we have shot better, we would have won. I agree True, we will be back. Hell, our stars or Fresh and Sophomores.

Yes, they were not why we lost, but the prevented us fro being able to come back and killed whatever momentum we got. When your defense is based almost entirely on pressure and forcing turnovers and you get called for a foul whenever the ref sees you reaching for the ball at all, it will hurt your defense.

And when we did start getting some momentum in the second half and start to close in a little, we would pressure them and go for a steal and get called for a foul and lose any momentum we had.
