I think the board would benefit greatly by allowing newbies 2 posts a day and they can start a topic after they get to 500 posts. It would alleviate these "troll" posts or "thoughtless" posts. I get amazed how many people have more posts then me in a year that took me 8-10 years. I guess the new generation believes since they won there fantasy football league that they are experts in real life.
It would take many people a year or so to reach 500 posts. lol So maybe prevent threads from being created until a poster has, say, 50 posts and one week on HB.
I would agree that there are some people posting things that don't really need to be, but I also think it's ridiculous to equate wisdom with the number of posts you may have. That is like saying someone that has spent more time on the board is automatically smarter than someone that is brand new to the board. That's a crazy way to look at things.
It would suck to be punished because some 'fans' like to start crap. I am new to the board, and although I don't comment a lot, I would like to comment more than twice a day if the need arises.
My numbers are just random samples. I think I could trust the board to make those decisions. The point is ... the board would be better off if they addressed this issue ... especially if you believe recruits read this stuff and we need to be responsible in how we address our frustrations via social media and sites like Huskerboard.
