Hard to tell with social media now. The violence today is not localized like with LA - maybe more like a very, very mild version of the 60s.

The protests to me do not seem as organic as during OJ... those were more localized thuggery-- here, like what happened in St Louis, seems like the locals are upset at the rent a mob... as mentioned above, probably more of a product of the social media bringing in the crazies

Good question. I was too busy playing rock star and partying to know for sure. I hadn't started doing any work in the schools or got a real look at the disparity in our cities. It just looked like black people wrecking their own stuff. I had no context.

Someone above said it- social media and cell phones have changed the game.Before that stories of police brutality were just NWA songs to most of us.
