I'm not a Trump fan, but I am interested in seeing if our society's oversensitivity and PC culture can swing back to a middle ground. People need to toughen up a little.

Rub some dirt on it!

Yeah. I was shocked and appalled when Trump won. Still went into work the next day, but am now actually sick today. The irony.

I'm a little disappointed in my generation's ability to give up so quickly, or to be hypersensitive.

Everybody, and yes President-elect Donald J. Trump (what's his middle name, by the way) deserve an open mind.

Careful mentioning "toughen up" that's a trigger statement these days at some universities....or microaggression.

Ok, instead of toughening up, should I use "get thicker skin"?

^^That would clearly be showing prejudice against people with thin skin.

I agree that folks need to get some thicker skin with the results and deal with it. I realize they're mad, but time to adult and do the move on thing.

The kids will be just fine as soon as the new IPhones come out. They'll be so busy downloading new apps they will forget about politics.

Well, I don't disagree that younger generations need to develop tougher skin, but some recovery time is to be expected when a fascist is elected President.

Cdog. Maybe you need to go to a grief counseling session? They're available.

I heard that on the radio this morning too and thought, Jeezus, what the hell happened to our society where we have become so pussified.

We have a culture that views "needing" counseling as weakness.

Not what I'd consider a healthy approach to mental health.

Zoogs, while I respect you, our culture once was driven by pride, being self sufficient, not having to depend on anyone, earning a fair wage for a fair days work and going home for supper with their wife and kids.

In today's world, it's what can we get for free, who can we screw to get what we want, help, help, help. Did I win. It's his fault, its her fault. Where my reward.

We need evolving views about mental health. Really. Stigmatization is a serious, serious problem. But over and over, I see the trope. "Ha, he needed therapy? Puss."

That has zero to do with self sufficiency. Hard-headedness is not healthy. It's a society -- we help each other.

Mental health is an important concern, not going to argue that at all. Lets cover the real found mental health issues, not invent them so we can slide someone within a group (for the sake of Inclusion), thus; they are less likely to feel alinated.

I'm not sure what that is getting at, exactly. What I'm saying is this the scorn and derision directed at people who seek out counseling, etc, needs to stop.
