Not condoning, supporting. Plenty of students struggle in school. I know many and I've been there. It happens for all kinds of reasons and it's important to have people around you who pick you up when you're down.
Rumors swirling that he rarely even attended classes. Hard to sympathize with that atttiude when you're still able to be fully committed to football. Just my take.
Read in the Journal Star today he only needed to get two D's to be eligible. Come on I don't care if you struggle with school if you can't get two D's then you put in zero effort.
I mean, obviously he wasn't trying his hardest. But there are a million potential reasons why. Those who care about him will want him to get back on track. What's so wrong with that?
Some people aren't cut out for being a college student. Some of them happen to be good at football. It's sad that with all the help available for athletes that he couldn't do enough to make it work but, it is what it is.
Plus, after that way the season ended, I doubt too many of the players are very concerned about the exhibition game that is our bowl game. If they couldn't muster enough pride in that N for Iowa, Tennessee in the Music City bowl isn't going to motivate them.
