huSKer, what were his warts? One of the great studies of the Old Testament heroes of faith is all the warts that discredited them from the majority ... and yet, God, in His Grace used them.

Polarization of America. People are viewed in black or white and never in grey. All news has been how "great" MLK was and not mentioning that the reverend loved chasing tail. Don't overplay it, just mention it to show that he was human and not some god.
