It's horrible.

I don't want to rush to politicize this. Events like these are always a tragedy and should be treated as such.

But... at the risk of ticking people off, flip the roles. Imagine a brown person started shouting anti-America sentiments at white people and then flipped out and stabbed two people to death.

It would be nonstop coverage on every news channel.

By comparison, a lot of people don't even know this happened.

My thoughts exactly, and it's why I posted this.

You want to talk about radicalized violence being a problem? Fine, but let's all look in the mirror, too. Want to be better? Rise above. Be able to treat deranged criminals as just that.

What are you guys talking about? Flip roles, Brown vs. white, news coverage, Anti-american... look in the mirror? You guys need to take deep breath. This guy was a racist crazy outlier who was deranged - PERIOD. The fact that he did it on the Friday of Memorial day weekend is the reason for no coverage...

He's both that and a product of the alt-right.

And "weekend before a holiday" -- you've got blinders on if you think that would reduce the conniption over, say, a deranged Muslim lunatic murdering two white Americans. At least from the very same sectors calling for calm & dissociation here.

One of those events would elicit a forceful public response from this White House, for example.

He was a known white supremacist. This was a hate crime.

To say lack of coverage due to it being a holiday weekend is asinine. .
