Horrifying.

Sounds completely premeditated, not just random violence. The shooter targeted that event because of the people there. Went after the security detail first.

When will this end?

Hopefully everyone will make it. NPR was talking to a congressman there who said a staffer was shot in the chest and it looked pretty bad. Other reports say everyone is expected to be ok.

Will we finally wake up?

Maybe. But it's more about mental illness than politics.

waldo...there are people who are nuts....they have always been here and they always will be. letting them have access to assault weapons doesn't seem to be the brightest idea in the history of the world.

Can we maybe not get into the politics of this and instead say how awful it is that people were shot? That it's problematic that we as a country are so divided that this is what happens. Who cares who blames who, who cares about the spin, just be sad and know that peoples lives have now fundamentally been changed.
