The NFL and it’s owners are basically a bunch of whores. If even one of them thought he was good enough he’d be playing somewhere. It’s not like they have a track record of only employing the squeaky clean or non problem children. Collusion my a$$, he just isn’t good enough.

Kaep is being blackballed because he's a trouble-maker. Not because he's not good enough.

The NFL is a lot cooler with other forms of "problem" causers. You know. Domestic violence. The like.

The Packers should sign him now, though.

There's everything to be judged about what is considered "baggage" and what is not.

Sure. The owners, all of them, drew a line in the sand and said THIS is the issue we're making a stand on and they're all letting a top 50 quarterback sit on the shelf. Sure.

Even if that is the case for a couple teams that want to avoid the PR nightmare, no way in hell that bunch of vipers got together and decided to let a good quarterback sit on the shelf to pay for his transgressions.

If the negatives outweigh the positives, nobody will want you.

Yes, THIS is the issue. Let's not be naive about it.

No the issue is there is no issue.  He's not a great NFL QB.  He may be a serviceable backup for the right system, but those teams either A) Don't need him or B) Don't want him.  If it's B) it can be bexause either they don't want his Prima Donna attitude or his controversy or maybe, juuuuuust maybe it's because they can get a QB just like him for half the price and hall the headache.

"There is no issue" is EXACTLY being naive to this.

There is no issue is being applied specifically to Kaepernick, but you know that.

If this were Johnny Manziel doing it, nobody would bat an eye.  "Oh that's just Johnny, prima donna thinks he is better than he is and everyones out to get him".  But since it's Kaepernick it has to be a race thing or related to it.  It can't just be that he isn't very good or that he is not a fun person to hire.

I'll just add that, it really doesn't/shouldn't matter why they don't want it hire him. If they think it'll have any kind of effect on their bottom line than they have every right to choose not to hire him. It's a high risk, low reward business decisions. One of the first things I learned not to get involved with in any businessclass I ever took.

Don't see how Kap and Maziel relate. Why is Kap distracting again? His baggage is he knows and wields his first amendment right well? What kind of baggage does Kap have exactly? Compared to Jonny "never left the frathouse" Manziel.

That's called a conparison.  Two things that are similar but not exactly alike.

It's a comparison alright, just not a very good one.

Ryan Leaf should get in on this!  Oh oh and all the former players that are like in their 60's...because they are being blacklisted because of age.

Kap made this an issue...but the issue isn't his standing/sitting/kneeling...the issue is that he is bad at QB'ing.

Just ask yourselves this, if he was a good enough QB, do you really think nobody would pick him up?

Collusion my a$$.

"I'll just add that, it really doesn't/shouldn't matter"

There's a legal dimension to this -- which comes back to worker's rights and how much they have -- and a social dimension, which is about whether or not we find the NFL contemptible for this. Lots of people agree with the NFL that Kaep's activism makes him a bad character. But, in sum, it absolutely matters.

Ask yourself this: if "all" Kaep did was stay quiet politically and punch a woman, he'd be on some roster somewhere.

The problem with the guy who threw 16 TDs, 4 INTs, and had nearly 7.0 ypc on the ground last year is his activism.
