My thought exactly!!!

So, you're not one of those estimated 15K in Atlanta wearing Husker gear, waiting for another teams' bowl to kick off?  Hmm.

I think it's pretty odd going to the Peach Bowl to root just for NU's new coaches.  I think it's better to root for UCF tomorrow, than to root for other B1G teams in their bowl games, especially since NU is nowhere to be found during bowl season.

I root for others in the conference to do well because when they DO do well, it puts the narrative of the B1G being weak to rest.

Except I don't ever look at bowl records as meaning the conference is strong. At least not completely. It's obvious the Pac12 isn't very strong now, and the Big10 is pretty good. However when most of the games are Big10 beating up on Pac12 schools....it's hard to justify.

What was the big10's record in all non conference power 5 games this year? I would expect that record to be good but its got to be part of the equation too. By seasons end there are teams that are more beat up than others. I've never given the SEC the benefit of claiming to be best conference just because of bowl season alone.

Most of us don't, but get sick of the SEC love fest the national media outlets have, especially this time of year.  Not hearing it right now for some reason.

I also don't put too much stock in the bowl games themselves.  They are a great reward for the kids, but the games themselves can be screwy.  There could be lopsided matchups, coaches on their way out, or teams that are just ready for the game to end.  Nick Saban commented today that it was hard to monitor the players in past bowl games that were "meaningless".  The team would select a 2 AM curfew for Sugar Bowl games when Alabama wasn't in the BCS.  In those games Alabama were beaten by Oklahoma and Utah.  These are also games which the teams will have 3 weeks of preparation for the game.  That preparation time never happens during the regular season.

@Dilly Dilly are there really that many NU fans going to the Peach Bowl?

From Lars Anderson:

I live in Birmingham,a two-hour drive from Atlanta. No hard confirmation, but been hearing there could be as many as 15,000 red-clad Nebraska fans at the Peach Bowl on Monday simply to watch a coaching staff during the UCF-Auburn game. Frenzy over Frost is becoming Saban-esque.

Really embarrassing if you ask me.

Wow, just wow. It’s downright embarrassing. It was embarrassing when people were showing up at UCF’s last game, even though some jumped on my a$$ for saying it needed to be about UCF and not Nebraska. This is a bad look for the program and people should really chill out and give Frost and UCF some space to finish up the season. Same goes for our media, no reason for any of our guys to be down there.

No kidding.  I dont mind that people go and show support for Frost, but good LORD, leave the red at home.   I remember you and I both having to explain to people in the megathread why it's dumb to wear red to UCF games.

Am I alone in thinking who cares what you wear to a game?  I attend Husker basketball and see Husker football shirts- hardly anyone owns a Husker baseball jersey.  Does the team feel every little sting by the guy wearing his Football National Title shirt? I  have been to 4-5 NFL/NBA games and you see all sorts of fans wearing some odd jersey, of their favorite team, not the team hosting or playing at the time.  I do not think UCF can experience any more trauma, then their coach getting snatched up.  Best thing for them - is to join a difference conf, that will allow their players/coaches achieve unlimited success (Natl titles) in their chosen sport(s)...

@Dilly Dilly lol right. I get it, people are excited and want to grasp onto Frost as a sign of hope and success.
