His mom is blaming the other kid because he mentioned using a gun to catch bullfrogs.  This isnt the first time the neighbor kid has had issues with this gun.  I caught him shooting at the brick on my house with it one day.  I jumped his a$$ and then his moms.  She said he was shooting at squirrels. The gun sounds like a .22 when fired.

I would try and get video of the kid such as when you caught him shooting the brick on your house.  Turn it into the police and see if they do anything.

They likely would not do much

Sounds like a classic case of my little angel can never do wrong. I hate parents like that. It's one thing to give your own kid the benefit of the doubt but when they start ignoring facts and reason you know you've got a special one.

That is exactly what it is Comfortably Numb.  This kid was caught on camera bullying another kid on the school bus and when his mom got called in for it, she blamed the other kid saying he was asking for it.

It is just irritating to watch it happen.  I know my kids aren't perfect and they do stupid stuff but they also have to deal with the consequences that come with it.  This kid literally doesn't get punished or even yelled at when he does stuff like I mentioned.  It is at the point where other parents won't let him come and play or hang out with their kids because he is constantly doing stupid stuff.

Unfortunately that seems to be more the rule than the exception with many parents any more. It's annoying as hell but the really sad part is those kids grow up having had no boundaries or accountability, thinking that's normal. And then we wonder why society is so f'd up.... :boxosoap

I teach middle school and have a student that brags about how his mom will always takes his side and gets him out of trouble, which is true.  But I've tried to explain to him that that isn't something to really be proud of, especially as he is preparing to enter high school where it will earn him a bunch of nicknames.

We used to do BB Gun wars...it was so much fun.

BB gun wars were pretty normal in my neighborhood.  Way better than Call of Duty.

We would steal goggles from the science rooms at school...and if you had a pump action BB gun I think the rule was you could only pump it 3 times.

Yeah, you catch one of those in the neck or on the cheek and you're a lot more realistic about the consequences of what a gun can do. Video games remove that factor from shooting a gun. Oooohh, my controller vibrated, BFD.

I just remember having much longer range than ever one else after pumping the ol' Daisy 10 or 12 times.  Everyone else had like puny Red Ryders and such.

My friend lost a tooth in what turned out to be the last BB gun war we ever had.  The jig was up.

We had a rule that if you got shot in the neck or face, that person had a free shot from 20' feet in the butt of the person who committed the foul.

I won't even start on the bottle rocket wars we had....those got shut down by another mom when we chased the other team into his house and one went in the door and exploded on the wall. That left the proverbial black mark on the wall.

When I was a teenager I'd take my little brother's Daisy BB gun away and make him dance, like in the old West.  If he stopped dancing I'd shoot him in the canvas of his tennis shoes.  It was all in good fun until I missed and hit him in the ankle one day.  He ran to mom crying, and tattled on me.  (Well, it was all in good fun for me anyway.)

I wouldnt be so pissed if this was his first incident with the gun, but its not.  He just finished taking hunter's safety and STILL proceeded to pull this crap and his mother doesnt care.  My wife jumped her about the bike and let her know that our kid wouldnt be doing s#!t for awhile if he pulled the same stunt.  His mom literally said she doesnt see what he done wrong and had no issue buying him the bike.
